Not a lot of food options on the menu, but what we did get was pretty basic. Well seasoned though. The tres leche was a bit dry, the flan was better. Server was great.

Manager is rude and don’t care to ruin your night. Saw him be rude to too many people while I was eating. That alone won’t make me return. Keep reading tho!Parking is not free so be ready to pay $8 for 3 hours.Food tastes like old fridge , EW! Plantains chips are burnt and ceviche shrimp looked like random meat. Check the pic.Restaurant itself had plenty of seating outside but there was a wait. Smoking area is way bigger than non smoking and either way you will smell and be part of it, even outside.Happy hour doesn’t have a menu separated. However salsa night is only on Thursday and this dj can DJ!Cover charge is $5 per person but the music is worth it. Lesson starts at 8 pm and open to public for dancing starts at 9-12. There is a bar up there!I suggest getting dinner somewhere else and then dancing.Drinks are not strong!I recommend this place for the music only. Skip the food and service.2 stars one for the music and the other for the waitress. She was awesome!

Wonderful restaurant with Cuban specialties. My skirt steak was perfectly done and almost as tender as a filet. Will be back!

A little too smoky.

The food is very expensive and they don't really cook Cuban food as it is, and the paella for example is nothing like

The atmosphere is incredible. Food was delicious. Service was exceptional. I’m so glad I ended up here. The only critique I have is it would be nice if there was a kids menu. It’s not too hard to put that together. Server made recommendations that were $20+ for a kid which wasn’t ideal.

The restaurant STINKS of cigar smoke from the adjacent cigar bar. All our clothes STINK of cigar smoke. Food was good. But again -- CIGAR STINK.

We didnt know this was a smoking restaurant. Probably a better experience in the summer, but we left smelling like smoke. Food and service were good though! Cuban sandwich bread was not crisp, but flavor was good.

Food was great, but service was very slow. Biggest issue was the smoke that comes from next door at the cigar room. The doors between the two are constantly being opened, and so the 1st floor restaurant was really smokey.

The food was excellent. The service was mediocre. The worst part is that the entire restaurant smells like smoke, even though we were sitting in the “non-smoking” section. The only things that separates us from the smoking section was a door that kept opening. I didn't even think it was legal for restaurants to having smoking in restaurants anymore. My party of 4 reeked of smoke when we left. I even woke up at 2 am and had trouble breathing (asthma) and had to take another shower and wash my hair. We will not return until summer when we can sit outside.

Wonderful experience. Excellent service...Izzie was clearly aware of my food allergies from notes on my OpenTable reservation. She helped me navigate options with the chef. Tremendously delicious food combined with sufficiency of volume in the middle of Richmond made the price per meal very appropriate and reasonable. The cigar smoke does reach the nonsmoking side, but for us it was tolerable. My only regret is an allergy to coriander so I could not savor the paella. This is not a Forbes 5 star establishment but thank goodness!! It's quite casual and great for dinner. All courses recommended.

Love Havana 59! Good food, great cuban ambiance and a yummy happy hour with their famous mojito. Who doesn’t want to visit a restaurant that reminds them of the “Paris of the Caribbean?”
