Haven’t been in awhile, but came when they we’re actually the first brewers in the area! Excellent beer, as well as hard seltzer’s!!! A definite stop is in order, also the open mic comedy is a blast

I'm a traveling worker. I came to Capital ale house Glen Allen. I told the waitress I wanted a dark beer. The first one she named off was a peanut butter. I told her to let me try that. Needless to say. I'm having my second one and bought a growler too. Phenomenal. I love it. I'll have to check out shipping options. I've never had a peanut butter beer taste this good

I can't speak for the quality of their beers since I don't actually like beer, but the food is... Fine and when it's not too crowded, the space is nice. When it gets crowded though, it gets LOUD.

We caught the end of open mic night . It was very interesting and entertaining. Comics have very short sets. The beers are very tasty, and the bucket of suggestions keeps things going when there is a stall in the comedy. We enjoyed it.

This is the best brewery in Richmond. I really enjoy the Choosey Mother and all the seltzers. I’m in here almost weekly and they’re always consistent. Manager and staff are awesome as well!

Nice location. Friendly staff. I just wasn't a fan of the beer. I like lighter beers though. So that is a taste thing. If your more into craft beer than me you would probably rank it at least a 4 star. Worth checking out for sure.

Peanut butter stout <3. Good vibes, plenty of TV's for the game you want to watch. Outside patio is elevated, super chill. Really liked the plain Jane and pumpkin lager. Got the flight and all were good, they don't overemphasize the flavor (thank you) and IPAs aren't too bitter.

All I can say is, wow!!! If you like craft beers and IPAs, this is the place to go. Great atmosphere, both indoors and out!! Great names for their brews (like "Choosy Mother" Peanut Butter Porter - which was voted the best Richmond craft beer in 2020!!!)The friendly and efficient staff sees to it that you have a leisurely time and relax while you enjoy your adult beverages. Ben, the manager ensures things run smoothly and Mike is very down to earth. No wonder they've received so many positive reviews in their 9 years of operation (which will be celebrated on October 29th with a Ferris "Bueller's Day Off" themed event called "9 Times") Hope to see you there!!!!

I have not been to the Brewery itself, but I have had their Choosy Mother Peanut Butter Porter thanks to the Olde Virginia Gourmet in Stafford VA.I found the PB Porter very bitter and I could barely taste the PB. After a couple of swallows, I added one squirt of Stevia sweetener to the can. What a difference that made! There was still the Porter flavor but without the bitterness and the PB flavor was delicious!I suggest just adding a touch of a natural sweetener, it makes so much difference to bringing out the PB flavor.

We were visiting from out of town a while back and checking out breweries in Scott's Addition. We were merely talking about another brewery, and an older gentleman at the bar (who turned out to be the owner) got very hostile and condescending. The staff was amicable, but his presence made us feel uncomfortable and attacked, and we had to leave. As we were leaving, he shouted, "Why don't you go back to Ardent (a brewery up the street.) We will go back to Ardent and any brewery in Richmond but yours. Good breweries collaborate and support their neighbors. The owner, however, does not and seems to have serious self-esteem issues.

Good beer and a nice indoor space. They have a patio that gets a little warm in the hot weather but it’s covered so still a good place to go!

Tucked away off the beaten path from the other breweries in Scott's Historic District is a gem of a brewery you do not want to miss. Isley not only has great ambiance but also well crafted tasty beer. I found their Porters to be excellent, great body and taste.Their location is not in the thick of it but you'll be missing out if you don't take the detour.

Great brewery with several different types of beer. We got a taster with 6 different kinds. I would highly suggest the Strawberries-R-Us (strawberry wheat), Choosy Mother (PB porter), Raspberry Beret (raspberry porter), and Raspberry Razzle (raspberry gose). The inside of the brewery is slightly small, which can make finding a table a bit tricky. Also, it gets a bit loud when a band is playing. Parking is on the street and it can be hard to find a close space when it is busy.Regardless of the minor cons above, I would still highly recommend this brewery and their beers.
