Twisted Taco was awful. I don’t have the words to describe my experience. Come here if you want a long wait.

I ate at the twisted taco. You can't ever go wrong with tacos!! I got the bowl and it's pretty much like Chipotle. Oddly enough it's across the street and they couldn't even give me change for a $20. They were out of just about everything and shouldn't have even been opened honestly. Thank God for twisted taco and all the friendly VCU kids who welcomed me with smiles and hellos. It felt like a community in there. I plan on trying the chicken finger place soon.

Laurel & Grace has three restaurants for VCU students, as well as some dining space. It is worth noting that all three are covered on the dining plan, which is required for freshmen living in the dorms. As a result, the building is almost always filled with freshmen. The building is strictly for VCU students in the evenings.1) Croutons: Consistent and decent food quality, quick, polite service, best place in the building hands-down. Just beware that they do close much earlier than the others.2) IHOP Express: Food quality is fairly consistent, but is pretty average compared to the other restaurants on the dining plan. Service is polite, but may take a considerable amount of time. I once waited 45 minutes for a grilled cheese with tater tots! They are one of the three restaurants on the dining plan to be open until 1am (2am on the weekends!), which is helpful for night owls like myself.3) Raising Cane's: Food quality is inconsistent, ranging from average to pretty low. Service can take over an hour on busy nights, but tends to be quick if you go before 8pm. It should be noted that the dining plan will not work here until 5pm. Service is usually polite, but I did see a bad interaction with a staff member and a transgender individual once (I haven't seen her since, they may have resolved this). They run just as late as IHOP, making it useful for late-night studying. The establishment has plenty of space to sit down and eat with friends. It is usually kept clean, and the security guards are very polite. It should be noted that this building tends to stay open when VCU closes for an unexpected reason, unlike other buildings on the dining plan. Overall, Laurel & Grace is pretty alright, and is generally a staple to the freshman experience at VCU.
