Robert has never poured me a glass that I haven't enjoyed. I absolutely love Leek & Thistle. The sommelier, Robert, is so incredibly knowledgeable about wines and they carry a wonderful variety. If there is a special story behind the wine or region, he probably knows it. This is one of my favorite places to come on Friday afternoon after a long stressful week. The bar is so inviting, and it's also a great place for a private event. His wife is also a wonderful cook, and I rarely leave without taking home some soup or chicken salad for later, not to mention a bottle of wine. If you are a wine lover and looking for a nice, relaxing place to go where the service is personalized and the owners are super friendly, this is the place to go.

I got a chance to visit today to help out family with meals during a surgery. They don’t have many restrictions (so I thought) - no red meat or tomatoes. I was going to get a meal for today and a meal to freeze. I looked at the salads and sandwich options and the first item I see is a quinoa salad that expired 2/23. All of salads and sandwiches but one had an expiration of 3/23. They looked alright but I was hoping for something more fresh and plentiful looking. I checked out the frozen selection hoping for anything but I didn’t see options that didn’t have tomato, red meat or freezer burn. I looked the freezers over a few times but couldn’t find anything that fit that criteria. I guess if the dates in the coolers aren’t being checked on, I shouldn’t expect staff to come over and check on me clearly rifling through every item in their freezers. I was going to ask someone for assistance but everyone looked too busy to be bothered swiftly walking around or leaving for the day, so I called it. 3 stars for looking inviting and having some sweets I would’ve added to my purchase. Thanks.

This place is the perfect hang out and take out spot. This place focuses on wine, beer, restaurant quality take home food. My wife and I did a wine flight. We picked two whites at random and let the bartender pick two reds. The flights were great. We did not try the take home food but it all looked fantasticIn short, this place is great local spot to enjoy a good drink. The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable. They also focus on the quality of the wines they buy from different regions of the world We will definitely visit again.

I picked up some food to go and so glad I did. The Guinness Stew is so so good! Can't recommend it enough. The owners are British so the food is super authentic and there is a lovely wine bar there too. Just a shame it closes so early.

Butternut, sage and apple soup, Delicious! All the Burittos but particularly the Chorizo and the Veggie. Chicken Pot Oie is next level. Love this fresh, small batch from scratch healthy foods. Wonderful food. The chicken salad is the best I've ever had. Lovely proprietors too.

After trying different ways to have convenient yet healthy and wholesome dinners, including Home Chef and Clean Eatz, I am really impressed by Leek & Thistle's meal selections, which include meat and meatless dishes, soups, sides, and even burritos and dessert entrees. The chorizo, egg, and black bean breakfast burrito for example was absolutely delicious and filling!All meals are frozen so I can put them in my freezer and defrost them as needed, so no more leftovers to throw away. Also, unlike the single portions of the other companies, the portions come in 16oz or 32oz containers, so I can get two to four meals from one container. That's a much better value for the money I'm spending. There is also a small refrigerated section of fresh pre-packaged sandwiches and wraps, and a large selection of wines and a bar. I highly recommend Leek & Thistle!

I was gifted two items from Leek & Thistle and both were inspirational! We got the spinach stuffed cannelloni and the shepherds pie. Both were the perfect amount of food for two meals for me and my husband. I cannot wait to try more. I am hoping to be able to when I am on maternity leave!

A very quaint and cozy wine bar in the heart of shockoe bottom! Leek & Thistle has an amazing wine selection and some of the cheapest wine flights in RVA! The owners are very pleasant and knowledgeable! Whether you are a novice or experienced wine connoisseur Leek & Thistle is a great pop-in spot! They offer a few light snacks that pair well with their wines.
