Service was slow. Cooks fault. But it was good.

First, a little preface to give the complete picture. I am in Richmond for several weeks with my job. It had been a very stressful day at work. Left me feeling upset and very irritated at the end of the day. In a foul mood. To the point I had to go somewhere and just walk around for a bit to calm down. Afterwards, I decided to go to Longhorn for a sit down supper. That turned out to be the best decision I had made in a while! The hostess was very friendly and seated me right away. I was seated in the bar area. I usually don't like the bar area, Because the bar tender is often overloaded and that can affect service. However.... in this case, it was my good fortune! My server/bar tender was Taila. After being seated, she showed up promptly, with a wonderful smile, to take my order. I ordered the LongHorn Burger and fries. Along with a Raspberry sweet Tea. While I was waiting she brought my tea and a small loaf of bread with butter. At this time she asked how I was. I told her about my day. We talked for a few minutes, her beautiful smile, cheerful attitude and joyful persona turned my bad day into a good one!! Taila is a definite asset to Longhorn!! A pleasure to have met her!! She was my angel that day. When my meal came out, everything was fresh and hot. Burger was cooked medium as I ordered it. Taila checked to see if I needed anything before leaving the table. Throughout the meal, she continued to check in and kept my glass full. She suggested dessert...., I got a Molten chocolate cake with ice cream. It was delicious. The entire experience was fabulous!! I recommend stopping there for a meal. I will definitely go back.

Worst experience ever! Walked in to be seated and the hostess had a poor attitude the moment she saw me. She did not speak to me. (No personal history. I didn't know her.) She did roll her eyes, shake her head and scoffed aloud. Entirely unprofessional and a poor reflection upon this business! Another family member requested the manager. The manager listened but didn't have much to say. He never even said he was sorry this happened. He didn't show any efforts to have us stay for dinner. We left and will never patronize any LongHorn again.

My mother & I stopped off I64W after a long drive, starving last night. The experience from start to of speaking with management, was a total of maybe 12 minutes & completely HORRENDOUS! We entered the restaurant behind a couple that was greeted with smiles & seated promptly at a table where they weren’t next to anyone in the mostly EMPTY restaurant. We weren’t greeted with even a hello, no smile, no words! I asked if we could have a booth for 2 & the young lady, who appeared to be the hostess, rolled her eyes & scoffed to another employee “seat them at (whatever the table number was)” We were put in a booth very close to a large table with a family eating & there were children yelling/talking loudly. (Let me say I have kids & know kids get excited! No judgement towards the family/children!) As the restaurant had AMPLE OPEN TABLES I returned to the hostess & explained where we’d been seated was loud & could we move to a more quiet spot. The same young lady from us entering looked at me with a look of disgust, rolled her eyes, wretched her neck back & forth but wouldn’t speak to me, wouldn’t look at me & plainly wouldn’t acknowledge my mere existence. There was another employee, a young man also present behind the hostess stand. I asked if it was a problem to be moved & the young lady still wouldn’t look at me & actually looked down & away from me. The young man smiled & spoke up “no mam.” I was aggravated at this point with the blatant disrespect towards me from the young lady. I physically bent my body & turned my head upwards to look her in the face & asked her “Why are you refusing speak to me & or acknowledge what I’m saying.” She still would not speak to me, but continue to just roll her eyes & wretch her neck back-and-forth. Her body language said everything that she was not verbalizing. At this point, I looked directly at her & asked to speak to the restaurant manager. She scoffed & popped her shoulders up, in what I took as an aggressive manner as she was upset I asked to speak to her manager. Another employee walked up & asked what was the problem, & I explained that I was not going to be disrespected in the way I had been. I said prior to leaving the review I intended to leave I would like to speak to the manager to explain why. A few moments later, a gentleman came out & did not introduce himself. I asked if he was the manager & he confirmed he was. I asked if we could step out into the vestibule so that we could speak privately. He obliged & prior to stepping out, I pointed out the specific young lady behind the hostess stand & explained she was the reason I’d requested to speak with him. I explained everything in detail that had happened since we arrived. I admitted that I had cursed in speaking to the employee who asked what the problem was when I requested to speak with him. Not at her, but in a statement I made in speaking about how I was not going to be treated the way I had. Just wanted to lay all the cards on the table & be honest. I explained I work in the food service industry & am a previous business owner. I shared my shear disgust over our experience. The way the young lady treated me was more than unacceptable & unwarranted PERIOD! He agreed no employee should treat a patron the way I had been treated. I explained I felt the hostess, being the first person people are greeted (or should be greeted) by as a representative of LongHorn Steakhouse was a detriment to the establishment. I shared I’d be leaving this review & would never return to LongHorn again. He gave a quick “I’m sorry” & held the door open for us to leave. While he was not rude in anyway, from a business owner & managerial standpoint I feel that there were many things that he could have done to try & stop or dissuade me from leaving this review. He made zero attempt. I highly recommend to NEVER visit the Laburnum Ave. LongHorn Steakhouse! I hope corporate sees this & addresses the lack of respec

Nice atmosphere. However, I requested a well-done t-bone but the outside of the steak was burnt, and my loaded baked potato was dry and lacking in load. The Wild Wild Shrimp appetizer was good. The bread was pretty good and warm as well. I think I'm going to try the Ceaser salad rather than the other side salad next time.

Exceptional kitchen and service. I don’t eat meat so I tend not to visit steakhouses. But I had a great meal at the bar with a wonderful strawberry feta salad that was crisp and delicious, a perfectly baked sweet potato with butter and cinnamon and crispy Brussels sprouts. Despite being a very busy time the bartender took the time to chat about the menu and be sure I was satisfied with my food.

Update from my last review. Came and got the outlaw ribeye. Asked for medium rare and it came out very rare. The seasoned mushrooms not seasoned, and the Mac & cheese very dry. All of this of course after waiting an hour. I did send my steak back to be cooked longer. It came back on a VERY hot plate as if it was microwaved. The waitress of course very nice and all of the employees were very nice and prompt. For the money I say not worth the visit.

20 minute wait to be seated. Never got the text that my table was ready. 10 minute wait for the waitress. 20 minute wait for drinks an 30 minutes for food. The hostess was rude an needs to find another job. The only good thing about my experience was the half rack of ribs I ordered.
