The price is too high for small platters. My small cassava leaf dish had a small piece of shredded chicken breast and my egusi barely had meat. The food was good but not enough for the price

The food was great! Both these plates came to about $50 with the water, a little expensive but worth it. Food was $9.99 per pound. Great experience and would definitely go back. Service was good and quaint spot with adequate parking.

I decided to try Africanne on Main since it is so close to campus, and I wish I found them sooner! They are pay-by-weight buffet. For me, the pineapple ginger juice and cornbread were the highlights! I love how each day there is a different menu. There is also a good amount of vegan options as well. Staff were extremely kind and even came up to us to make sure everything was okay. Restaurant is clean and I liked how the buffet was organized. I highly recommend!!

Went here for ox tail on my birthday. We ended up getting a sampler tray from the buffet as well. For me, the things that really stood out were the Nigerian Jollof, plantains, jerk chicken, and chicken and fish greens. For my wife, it was the plantains, fried chicken wings, curry chicken, and fried trout. So, pretty much everything. XDThe ladies running the place were very sweet and helpful. And the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and inviting. Overall, vit was an excellent choice for a birthday dinner. Thanks!

In the area for a show at the theater. Saw this restaurant and been wanting to try. The food is amazing and so flavorful. You can do the buffet, which I did so I can try a bit of everything. Or order from the menu. The staff is so friendly. Guided meditation through buffet and what goes together. It has veggies and vegan dishes so meets all needs. Love the ginger teas. I got ginger and pineapple. Definitely, check it out your taste buds and tummy will thank you.Vegetarian options: Clearly label veggie and vegan options.

If you want delicious authentic West African food in Richmond, this is the place. The vibe is friendly. No frills, just genuine. Groove to Afrobeats playing in the background as you dine in or wait for your take-out.

After two hours of hiking, we were starving! Decided to get African food and this place had pretty good ratings. You come in here and it is a buffet style place. The price is by weight so you can fill your plate up with as much as you want. I liked that about this place, I love when the portions of food is in my control. Everything was tasty and we tried Fufu for the first time. It was an awesome experience. They also had specialty drinks and dessert. We tried out the rum cake and it was to die for. Definitely coming back in the future.

Ordered 2 meals-Entree of Oxtails with Jollof rice and the entree of Chicken spinach egusi with fufu. Also sweet ginger bread and iced sweet potato cake.Portion size was substantial.Finger licking good. Meat tender and all food seasoned with love. Bread and cake moist and just the right sweetness. My first time here and definitely not my last. Yum for the tum.

The experience is dedicated to fulfilling a journey through Liberia, from the moment you step into the door. The sounds of African music, the aroma of authentic Liberian food, the homemade addicting drinks, the homemade desserts, the African style popcorn and so much more! If you come once believe me you'll be back...Vegetarian options: Egusi Vegetarian with FuFu, Jollof Rice, Tofu tastefully made oh! The detox Tea is clearly a healthy choice!Parking: Accessible

I have been to many places, but this place grabbed my heart with two hands. First hand; absolutely delicious choices and the second hand; an establishment that could rival my mother and grandmother's cleanliness. 1 visit, and I love Mamusa's. Will be back. ?✊?

We stumbled upon this place after hiking. We really worked up an appetite and this was the perfect place to soothe it! At first, the instructions are not clear so reviews from other Yelpers really helped. Whether you're dining in or taking out the process is the same. You fill up your plates/containers and weight out your food prior to sitting and chowing down. For both of us, it was $40 with drinks, not including the rum cake which was great value for everything we got. There was music playing which really set the ambience. Rex and I loved all the food items we chose and they were perfectly paired with the ginger drinks we got. The drinks were super sweet which paired well with the delicious and savory food. It was also our first time trying fufu and we appreciated the sign suggesting which dish paired best with it.My only critique would be that more interaction from the staff and guidance on the process would have been appreciated. They were friendly with the few interactions we had. We will definitely come back when we're in the area again.
