Looks like I'm going to be the dissenting viewpoint here but.... First let me state up front that the service was attentive and friendly. No complaints on that score. The kitchen on the other hand is another matter. We had a fairly long wait to get our food, but it was pretty busy so perhaps understandable. Maybe they were short staffed, I don't know. Unfortunately, it was not worth the wait. I may have had a worse meal in recent memory, but I can't remember it. I ordered the fried chicken. It appeared to be breaded, skinless thighs that were a bit overcooked and so salty that I couldn't finish them. I know that the amount of salt in food is very much up to personal taste, but these were VERY salty. So much so that I finally just gave up. The mashed potatoes were fine, but the gravy tasted like it came out of a jar. The roasted vegetables were slightly bitter. The bun served on the side was from a frozen package. My wife got the gnocchi with butternut squash and rosemary. I THINK we might have tasted some squash flavor in the cream sauce, but I wouldn't swear to it. But of rosemary there wasn't a hint. Plenty of chopped parsley sprinkled on top though. The sauce was also a bit on the greasy side. She didn't finish her meal either.We live in the neighborhood so wanted to support the local restaurant, but I'll be hard pressed to try it again. I hate to leave an unfavorable review, and I did mention the overly salty food to our server (she was very nice about it and said she would tell the kitchen), but it was bad enough that I felt compelled to mention it on a more public forum.

Great good, great service, small quant place. Food was very tasty, no one had complaints. The loaded fries were delicious, french dip, burger and chicken sandwich, all great.

Food is wonderful! Turkey sandwiches are so boring, but Neighbor had the BEST turkey sandwich I have ever had. It was sliced turkey breast that was browned in a pan, served on sourdough bread (which was delicious) , topped with bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and onions. Delicious. Others got the french dip, smashburger, Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts, and kids chicken tenders. Everyone enjoyed their food. The downside was that service was so slow, but wait staff were great. I would definitely dine here again.

Finally had a chance to check out Neighbor, which replaced The Mill. Their Smash Burger was fantastic. It was so good. Staff was friendly, interior was spruced up and repainted compared to the previous restaurant. I will be going by there again for sure!

Just passing through Richmond early for a flight with weather warnings, and decided to find something with the great local flair that we miss in the mountains. No regrets here! Great variety of sandwiches and appetizers , good to know on the salads as well. Delicately prepared, fresh ingredients (in the drinks as well), and exceptional service. We plan to visit often, when visiting our former grounds.

The Brussels sprouts and French Dip sandwich were AMAZING! That aus jus is so good. The ambience is cute and intimate. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!

I ordered a burger to be cooked medium, and you can see in the picture that it came very well done. My company ordered the same and it came the same as mine. I was disappointed that a chef who made a mistake still sent out the overcooked food. Homemade chips were good.
Really good food and service! They have gluten free bun/ bread options for the sandwiches for a $2 up charge (it isn’t listed on the menu).

I'm so glad we found this small, charming restaurant. Everyone, especially our waitress Jen, was super nice. Many of the items are named after neighbors in sitcoms, which was a clever touch. We had a smash burger, a salad, and the French dip (Kramer). The French dip was the best I've ever had. The homemade ranch that we dipped the fries in, was amazing. We also shared pumpkin cheesecake and key lime pie. We will definitely be back.

Enjoyed dining in at Neighbor. Our waiter, Joey, was super. The Mac n Cheese balls are unbelievably good. My husband had the pork medallion with mashed potatoes and asparagus which was delicious. He really enjoyed the demi glace that was on it, perfectly done. I had the Chicken Caesar salad which had a tasty, creamy based dressing with a tinge of mustard taste to it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We brought a piece of Key Lime pie home which was fantastic. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We stopped in here to try a new place and were not disappointed! When we got there, there was a long wait predicted but I'm so glad we waited and came back. All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. It's especially telling when the staff isn't just nice to you, but they're nice to each other! It felt like we were all hanging out with friends grabbing a bite to eat. It was a great atmosphere, had tasty food, and an amazing, accommodating staff!
