The food wasn’t up my alley… but the drinks and vibes were everything and plus they have free samples

Located inside the Veil Brewery. There are not a lot of options but unique items. Got some Udon Noodles and Kimchi fries. My buddy got the Korean fried chicken. You make your order and get a buzzer. Not cheap. The food was really tasty. Order at the bar. Lunch drink options, not alcohol are limited. The place is massive. Lots of seating areas. Few Tv's throughout. Very cool vibe, neon light, and rather out of place stuffed animals. They're cool, though, especially the bear and Zebra. Would come back for lunch again.

Didn't know what to expect, but was very pleased with the wings, chicken sandwich, and cured salmon. SO flavorful.

Another Asian "styled" restaurant that seems to blend various Asian foods and sell them at an inflated price to locals that don't know better. Karaage is not dry rubbed wings or French fries. The actual karaage is sold either as part of a big fried chicken platter that costs $55 or on the kids menu more or less as "nuggets." The kimchi fries have nothing to do with Kimchi and aren't seasoned to taste like Kimchi. The salmon poke bowl topping was fine but the rice was hard as a rock and must have been days old. Offal skewers for $12+ dollars? I'll never understand why people would pay the same price as a burger for organs on a stick. You could eat your fill of yakitori for under $20 at a real Yakitori restaurant, but not here. The food itself tasted fine but it's limited and expensive. The service was bland and bartenders quite obviously seemed to be avoiding interacting with customers or stoned to high heaven lol. Just another Richmond establishment that is more about vibes than substance.

Was excited to try Nokoribi as I am a HUGE fan of the food from the Forest Hill Veil location (Y Tu Mama) but I was extremely let down. The menu online had great options, which is what originally enticed me to go, but I was disappointed when I was told that the menu online is out of date and most of the items were unavailable. Was really looking forward to the kimchi fries and cucumbers no longer offered. Instead, I ordered the Asian inspired egg salad which lacked any flavor at whatsoever and the brussel sprouts which were WAYYY too salty to eat and didn’t have much other flavor. Definitely wouldn’t recommend or go back.

Here you'll find more than just delicious food, you'll actually be enveloped in a whole mood where fresh seafood, chicken and vegetables are cooked over a coal fire right in front of you as you sip on crafted cocktails and brews. The meats here have an incredible unique smoky flavor and this art of cooking infuses a new dimension of flavor. The Japanese pub-style inspired food and yakitori concept is a must try. The service was also, friendly and prompt.

I was skeptical but everything was really good with surprising touches, although not super authentic. The karaage was some of the best I've had in the US. Excellent fresh but also held up well in the takeout box after 15 minutes. The chicken skewer looks plain but has a PERFECT springy texture and charred flavor. Tofu soup was great, using fried silken tofu which is rare. Prices are good for the portion size.

Food options are limited but pretty decent. The fried chicken and Brussels sprouts were the options that we enjoyed the most. Come here for the beer and the atmosphere not so much the food.Service at the counter is nonexistent and a kiosk with a bar tender would’ve been by far a better option versus the blank expression and bland personality of someone taking your order but the kitchen peeps were on point and smiles at you while you grab your food.Nice place but could be better.

Beers are fine if you like the veil.Food. Is. Amazing. Filling portions, great flavor, lots of fun variety to explore. Sad I didn't try the meatballs but I'll get them next time

Having nothing short of stellar experiences at Y Tu Mama, the in-house eatery at The Veil Forest Hill, I expected the same level of quality and service from Nokoribi. This was not the case. The food, while aesthetically pleasing, seems lazily executed and was not at all what I expected for the price point. I want to like Nokoribi. The concept is great but the execution just isn't there.

When last night for quick dinner. I had the grilled shrimp, my daughter had the chicken meatballs and we split an order of fries. Everything was good and fresh made. What we couldn't get over was how large the order of fries were. We took most of them to go and still couldn't finish them today. Highly recommend and we definitely will be back.

Been to the Veil several times since they moved locations but was never excited about the menu at this new food spot until I saw a photo of the wings on an Instagram post. I love a dry rubbed wing and have not found anything good since the chef at Saison left several months before their closing. They had THE BEST pineapple jalapeño spiced rubbed wings. Anyway, the wings here aren't noted as a rubbed or a sauced so we chatted with a staff member about em. He said they alternate their flavors every so often so checked for us and confirmed the garlic and lemon flavor was a rub. We paid, got a buzzer, and about 15 mins later picked them up from the food counter. They were very tasty and had a good level of spice. Were not overly garlicky or lemony. Medium level of heat. I took off one star because the wings had varying amount of spices on them. Some were lightly dusted and one was over saturated in spice. Would definitely go back to order again or see if they have a different flavor to try!

Just come here to drink with friends. So this is probably the only review you’ll need to read about this place. The atmosphere is great and so are the drinks but that’s where it stops I spent 45 dollars on a fried chicken sandwich, Kimchi fries and a curry rice bowl and let me tell you it’s not worth it and I’ll start with the sandwich, I got the chicken katsu sando and it honestly wasn’t bad but I’d give it a 6.3/10 but it is definitely not worth 15 dollars, it should be at most worth 11 dollars. The curry bowl was small but pretty good so I’d give it a 7.2/10 but definitely not worth 15 dollars and here’s where it made me not want to comeback to “eat” here, the kimchi fries… such a disappointment…like why name it that if there is no kimchi or any type of toppings? It was just regular fries with like chili powder and again not worth 10 dollars… like you’re honestly better off going to Wendy’s to get their fries with the ghost pepper ranch sauce and I forgot to mention it took me 46 minutes to get my order like come on now. Oh yea fries 2/10

Atmosphere was beautiful but the Menu was limited. I expected the food to be great but the only good thing was the chicken.
