I got some chili cheese fries which were NOT cheap and they were all burnt which is all you could smell. There was hardly any chili on them at all. I paid extra for onion rings which were 97% all batter. My steak and cheese sub was good. It would have been much better with the mayo I requested but was by far the best thing I got from them. Oh, and the lettuce was disgusting ?

Our first time dining here was last year, and the food was good. Our aunt is a local resident of Richmond, and she recommended this place for us to try. Both sandwiches were delicious.

We had a great server. I had the Poe's Wheel. What a great sandwich. It's a nice place for lunch. You should check it out if you're in downtown Richmond

Would not go back here purely because of the service, which is disappointing because the food was actually decent. Came in on a dead afternoon and my partner was immediately chastised by the waitress for asking about specials and drink options. We quickly paid and left.Next time you want to keep customers, maybe try not being nasty to them.

Ribs were stone freezing cold through most of the middle, like just out the chiller. Guess they hadn't put in microwave long enough or something. Very disappointing.

The worst place I’ve been to in the city of Richmond and the state of Virginia! Don’t waste your time! Service is lacking tremendously.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I was given here. My family and I had ordered from here through DoorDash. Once our dasher had arrived at the restaurant, our order was declined saying they didn’t accept the order and refunded us after DoorDash called them. I am extremely disappointed and furious. I do not tolerate false advertisement. The treatment I have been given is non-professional. Thank you Poe’s Pub for wasting 30 minutes to an hour of my time. Do NOT order from here ever! Shame on you Poe’s Pub. And yes I am writing this while I am hangry, due to their pathetic incompetence.

I had a delicious Philly steak and cheese sub with fries and it was one of the best I've had for a while. Highly recommend you stop in to this Richmond landmark.

Poe’s Pub is my favorite place in RVA! It’s not fancy, it’s not uppity, it’s not expensive. Food is excellent and I LOVE the drink menu. It’s everything I wanted from the city tbh. Right at the bottom of Libby Hill for excellent sunset views, it’s easy walk to the nature area at great ship lock park, and the occasional live music has blown me away! It’s open late so it’s a chill way to end a night out on the town with some chicken tendies and fries.Parking: Parking lot is tiny, always full, and kinda dangerous to get in and out of because of the blind corner on the road

Came here with some friends who were in town and we throughly enjoyed the food here. It was honestly the best fried catfish I’ve eaten. I’ve never had such flakey and sweet catfish before with no hint of the fishiness that comes with catfish. The paired coleslaw cut into the salt and balanced out the whole thing. Everyone else seemed like they enjoyed their food since plates were cleaned out. I’m not much of a drinker or into sports, but I’d come back for just the food.EDIT: came back a week later to get a birthday lunch… the hush puppies are so good it should be illegal. Our waitress was kind enough to give us two honey butters without us asking which I greatly appreciated since I am a germaphobe. Got the catfish again but I’ll try something else next time!

Parking can be a bit tight. Great little pub serving many southern style dishes. Attentive service and nice atmosphere. Hang out outside and enjoy a draft brew with your fried oysters. Definitely will not be disappointed!
