This place is such a good takeout pie place. I was never really a pie person until I came here. Their savory and sweet pies are a hit every time. The crust is so flavorful and flaky. I miss their dine in area but I understand why it's only takeout now. The service is always so quick but make sure to show up early before they sell out. They are also only open Wednesday-Sunday. Everyone that works there is very nice and welcoming.

My first experience with proper pie was hectic. The street was closed for a festival but fortunately they had a tent outside their shop. After pushing through crowds and waiting in line for my pie, I was greeted with such friendly staff. My favorite pie was the Butter Chicken. It had great flavor. We also tried their Guinness and steak, and pork and cabbage pies. I appreciate how the dough did not get soggy from the contents inside despite their being sauce even after being refrigerated and reheated 2 days after. Lastly we did try a fruit pie. It was blueberry and something else, I can't recall. It had a nice flavor and wasn't too sweet. It was a great flavor to accompany the Guinness and steak pie. Overall, I would recommend!

Wow! Absolutely delicious pies and I'm a pie snob. The sausage roll was exactly how I expect a sausage roll to be and the service size is ample for the price, could dowith a little more herbs but that's a personal preference. The beef and cheese was my favorite. Super flavorful and just the right amount of filling. You'll have to order through their website and pick up at the window. They do not do walk up orders.

Everything I've had from here has been absolutely fantastic. The savory pies, the rolls, the sweet pies...all winners! Definitely check it out. Now for the very few cons: they still haven't opened up their dinning area which is a shame. They make more money so I get it, but it sucks not having a place to sit down anymore. Also they ask for tips in a very awkward way when it's a fast food restaurant. There is no service but they expect you to add a tip. Lastly I do feel like the food is a bit overpriced. Certainly more of a treat than something you could regularly get at a bakery.

The desert's are the main attraction and they're great, but don't sleep on their savory pies. The savory pies are a smidge pricey, but they're worth it. I haven't had a single thing there that I didn't like.
I LOVE Proper Pie Co. Hands down one of my favorite food spots in Richmond ? Everything I've ever gotten from here has been fantastic. Most recently I picked up a pork chile rojo meat pie and a slice of banana cream pie. Both were fantastic! Visiting my sister who lives in the neighborhood. On my way out, I was super hungry. Parked it real fast, ran up to the window, and had savory and sweet vegan pies within a few minutes. It really hit the spot-- the vegan option was super meaty and filling. and the price is super reasonable. I'd go here all the time if I could :)
