I just moved to Norfolk, I’m Cambodian and have been looking for a fix for a while so I drove to Richmond to try this spot out. Nothing on the menu today felt Cambodian to me unfortunately, both the the fried rice and pan fried noodles were drenched in black pepper and the menu lacked traditional Cambodian dishes. This felt like a Chinese/Thai fusion restaurant.

Nestled within the Hatch compound is a fantastic location if you’re looking for a great bahn mi. The pork belly was tender and well spiced combined with other fragrant veggies in the sandwich. The pan fried noodles were pretty middle of the road in my opinion, and the shrimp could’ve been better seasoned/pan fried instead of boiled. Looking forward to trying the other dishes out. The eatery itself is clean and modern, not too crowded.

I get the vegan Cellophane Noodles and they are the best that I've ever had. It's even hard to explain how good they are, you have to experience it for yourself.

Ordered DoorDash from here twice and both times it did NOT disappoint. This is some of the best food RVA has to offer. Well seasoned, perfectly cooked meat, bright vegetable accompaniments, and a nice atmosphere at Hatch Local. And all for a reasonable price.

We loved the food—one of the better tasting Asian experiences I’ve had in Richmond!

I'm going to give this place a 5 star but I'll start by saying I was SUPER underwhelmed by my pork belly bowl. It needed some type of sauce or moisture bc it was white rice with dry veggies and meat. A sauce or some type of liquid/moisture would have brought it all together. I SO BADLY wanted to love it but I paid $13 (or maybe it was $15) to eat cucumbers and pork belly BUT I'm giving it 5 stars bc my mom got the fried rice and it wad BANGIN. Like so so good. I think this place makes yummy food, I just ordered the wrong thing. I'll go back and get the fried rice but such a disappointing dining experience when you leave hungry bc your meal was 'meh'.

This is honestly the only place worth going to at Hatch Local. I've had the tofu, steak, pork belly, mushroom dish, everything has been so delicious. It's the only place in Hatch Local that I feel is healthy but also delicious. I'm surprised at the rating as I think it should be 5 stars!!!! The food always comes out quick and the service is amazing.

The char siu pork belly entree was amazing! Great five spice flavor. The egg roll also had great flavor. Definitely coming back!

Drew’s Mattresses

Sooo delicious and authentic! I'd give six stars if I could. I don't think there is anywhere else in Richmond you can find this cuisine and they nail it!

Food - 3/5Service - N/AAmbiance - N/AThe food is ok. Ginger is a bit overpowering in the rice. I also wish there was more meat. Could definitely use a bit more spice as well.

I sampled their food at hatch and it was exquisite. The pork belly was out of this world. I really enjoyed the unique flavors and how much depth they had.
