The food... the wine... how could you say which is better? Great vibe and thoughtful service! Can't wait to come back

So brevity may not be possible. I really really want to give a better review because this is a cute spot in the Fan that is cozy, and besides being a wine bar, has a limited "full" bar (in other words, you can get cocktails too just don't expect your to find a craft cocktail experience but certainly the usual suspects are there). I've been there many times and not found anyone that I'd consider a wine expert. Rather, there are folks that are informed enough about the wines on the menu to make a suggestion if you tell them what you like. However, I don't think that's what they are trying to be here - mostly I'd describe it as a nice local neighborhood wine-forward place. If that was what it was only, I would give a 3 1/2 or maybe even a 4 stars with the caveat of "don't expect in-depth wine expertise but do expect a delightful cozy retreat". But.... SINCE they decided to do food as well, disappointment (which I did not want - I really really wanted to give it every opportunity...) was the end result with regard to the food experience. The offerings are certainly industrious and creative, but to the tastebuds they are a wee bit lacking. To their credit, the sharables were fine. My biggest sad face was in the mains. For example, the burger - I've had it twice and the meat just tasted weird. A friend who lives within walking distance made a similar comment. I have read others' reviews and they say great things about the food. I can't believe I have failed to experience the food the same way in the many visits I've made. Sigh... I will still come back because doggone it, I like this place. But the food just ain't that great. Just my humble two (or 47 cents).

I had such a great experience here. I was able to make a reservation through Resy--this required me putting down a $40 reservation fee, which was only charged if I was a no-show. I made it about 1 1/2 hours before I was going, so it worked out fine. Just something to think about. The service was amazing. We arrived, and our table wasn't quite ready, so we sat at the bar and had a drink. We got seated about 15-20 minutes after our reservation time, which wasn't a big deal to me, but the host comped our drinks because we had to wait. I loved that he offered to do that, AND I felt like I could order another drink since I was only paying for one. We started with the cheese charcuterie board and picked three cheeses. We had a mild cheese, similar to a Brie, the truffle cheese and a blue cheese. It came with crostini, and they will bring more if you eat them all (which we did!) at no charge. All were delicious. We had the boar Bolognese. It was sooo tasty! There were two of us, and we shared it. Because we had the cheeseboard as well, it was plenty of food for us. Our server was great and super-helpful in explaining some of the menu items. Overall, a GREAT experience

Serious sanitation problems, they were not wearing gloves or hair nets or aprons in the kitchen. Handling cheese and meats. The pinot noir was 14$ and was hot. I was confused. I like the idea of a wine bar but they need to do better.

Came here for a pop up restaurant and we loved the ambience. The drinks were SOOO good. I'm a big Manhattan and Negroni fan, and the bartenders did a great job with them!

Fantastic wine and food, thoughtfully curated menus, and an extremely knowledgeable, confident and friendly team. I look forward to returning. Gorgonzola castlevetranos? Always.

Friendly, attentive staff (even turned the heater on the patio on for us with a smile) and the food was delicious. Green salad was crisp and fresh and the dressing was yummy as was the tomatillo soup. My friend swears by the burger and it looked great. This is a wonderful neighborhood restaurant that really cares about its customers. I’ll be back soon!

Outstanding service! We reserved a patio seat for a gorgeous, temperate evening one night ahead of time. I appreciated the text reminders and that I could interact with the restaurant through it/it wasn't automated. Had to update my reservation and it was easy to do. Food tasted great! I especially loved the tartare. Ordered from the Mezze menu- 5 small plates for $50. Wines were phenomenal too. My favorite was the Avinyo sparkling wines. All in all, it was a perfect place to spend a Friday evening. Thank you!

Overall it was a good experience. Fun small plates and a great wine selection. Quick service and knowledgeable staff. The menu is on the pricey side. You can easily spend $$$.

Really fun place! Had a few glasses of wine and a meat/ cheese board. Our server was awesome and had great recommendations and made the experience more enjoyable. Prices are higher than some spots and well worth it for the quality and atmosphere.
