I debated about writing this review as I have had nothing but mostly positive experiences with the food and service here. However, I had to write this, as my disappointment in the updated bread pudding, yesterday, was just too great. The bread pudding has been my go to dessert from Shyndigz for years. I occasionally ordered different desserts, but the bread pudding was by far my favorite. I'm not certain if the recipe has changed, but it appears to be just soaked bread with a topping. It hadn't been baked all the way through and its appearance is noticeably different. It just does not taste the same and was not very enjoyable. It saddens me to have to write this but I am not certain a phone call would make a difference. Please go back to the old recipe as I'm not certain that I'd purchase this again or even try the others for fear of a change in the recipe.

We have been ordering this cake (salted chocolate caramel) for years- (since Shindigz was on libby) this is the first time we were dissapointed. It might as well have been a plain chocolate cake. No one could taste the salt or the caramel. It was just ordinary. We paid too much for ordinary. This may have been the last time we get birthday cakes here.

This place has a great atmosphere and everything looks delicious, but unfortunately many of the desserts fell flat, especially for the price. We got the key lime pie, the belle isle (birthday cake cheesecake), oatmeal cream pies, and the peanut butter bar:The key lime pie had an amazing crust but the filling had barely any lime flavor--it was great pie, just not key lime pie. The belle isle was incredibly sweet and the cheesecake icing was lacking in cream cheese, so ultimately just a huge generic sugar bomb. The oatmeal cream pies were definitely the highlight--great texture and flavor. The peanut butter bar was good but one-note, like a high quality Reese's peanut butter cup, and the richness quickly tires out the palate (would recommend eating it with some vanilla ice cream :)).

Just got back from this place and couldn’t wait to leave a review! Amazing decor, ambiance and most importantly desserts! I’m so glad both, my husband’s (lemon lava) and my favorite (silk pie) were available the same week of our anniversary. Just the perfect amount of “sweet”, not too much not too little. Can’t wait to try more stuff

Not the kind of cake for me. Very dense, heavy, sweet. Was looking to replace the cake shop back home. Doesn't come close unfortunately.

I went to their old location near Fancy Biscuit to learn that they had moved across the street into a white building. Their new location has an inviting atmosphere, and I was greeted by a friendly employee. There’s a cool RV coffee/ drink area inside. I got some tasty looking ready-made food to go.

Interesting concept with a small assortment of live plants for sale, along with amazing house-made desserts, specialty coffees (and cocktails). Great sound system with excellent playlist and deep thumping bass (not too loud). Relaxing vibe. Great place to go after a nice meal for a special dessert. Or in the morning to get your java on. I had the Tres Leches cake. Delicious. Amazing sauce with it.

The guy who was serving was very abrupt and very informal. They need to be cooler with customers. Tres leches feels very old, not at all

I'm literally never disappointed when I come visit my favorite Richmond bakery! The cake slices are legendary, and there's always a new sweet treat or little snack that catches my eye that I have to try. The consistent excellence in service and overall good vibes is what keeps me coming back.
