This used to be my "go to" Starbucks but today I was met by an all new staff, from which I unfortunately did not receive a warm welcome. After placing my order, heading to the window, and pulling a $50 bill out of my wallet, the cashier immediately asked if I had anything smaller. I didn't, so I told her that I didn't. She then proceeded to state (in a condescending manner), "I'll take it this time but it's against our policy so you know in the future". I've been coming to Starbucks multiple times weekly since 2008; this is not my first time at the rodeo. There was nothing posted restricting large bills and just two days ago I presented a $50 at the Starbucks at Regency that was happily accepted. Furthermore, I hadn't attempted to hand her my payment before she agitadedly agreed to accept it. Had she been patient and courteous, allowing me the chance to ask her to apply it to my Starbuck's card, she would have realized the bill did not need to be broken. I can promise I will not put this store through such "hassle" in the future. Instead of accepting $50, they can accept $0 from me.

Don't go in the bathroom. No Toilet paper and getting gross. Coincidentally, I had been in this bathroom the day before and it was obvious it not been cleaned. Today there was no TP. No soap. Most of the business here seems to be the drive through. If you use SB for their bathrooms, take this one off your list. It's disgusting . Did buy a coffee here and staff at first appeared to be trying but came off as impatient and annoyed. I can't imagine the of dealing with the public, yet it's time for this server/barista to retire. A barista posted anonymously that when a mother orders the same drink for her kids, she puts whipped cream on one of the drinks to watch the kids fight. In the comments, some people laughed and some were horrified. That could have been this guy. He's probably putting whipped cream on one drink and not the other and smiling when they fight as I type this. Drive by this place. It's dark and the bathroom is probably beyond gross by now.

I'm not sure if other reviewers are mistaken, or if they've got the better customer facing staff working the counter away from the drive through; but, I've been to this location a number of times and every time I visit I'm greeted by a new low for customer service. Truly combative, unprofessional, and certainly far from friendly. I just want to order my drink and be on my way, so why is it that a question like "excuse me, but which drink is this" is met with a sarcastic and condescending remark to check the sticker *that wasn't even there*? Casually rude and dismissive would be an accurate expectation when visiting this store. The coffee is Starbucks no doubt, but it's not consistent, and their lack of care is evidenced by the "close enough" style of their drinks. I would rather park and walk into target across the street at this point. An otherwise aggressively mediocre coffee shop absolutely tarnished by inconsolably miserable service. Avoid.

One of the best Starbucks locations in Richmond. They always get my order right, they are super friendly, be it at 6am or 5pm, and they always offer a pup cup when they see my dog. They also might be one of the very few of their locations that doesn't burn their coffee. I may or may not have moved to the area just to be closer to them.

Easy-in-n-out Forest Hill location! Ample space inside without side patio seating & clean BRs. It's a Starbucks! Friendly drive & staff.

I have added one star to the atmosphere rating since I posted the critique below, main because of the welcoming chalkboard and "Be Kind" sign that have been added. Thanks; it improves the ambiance!Over the last few years our neighborhood Starbucks has changed dramatically, and it has boosted their businesss.First, it moved across the street to a new Starbucks-owned building with in and out driveways.Second, it included a drive-up window and outdoor speaker for taking orders.Third, it along with numerous other Starbucks I've seen, replaced virtually all of the furniture that encouraged comfortable lounging, group gatherings to chat, and a laid-back atmosphere with hard wooden chairs to discourage customers from lingering too long. This Starbucks' only two small comfortable chairs are placed closely adjacent to the restroom doors. These changes have resulted in converting this Starbucks from a comfortable, friendly gathering place into a business focused primarily on speedy delivery of orders to its drive-up window, and a now-large staff constantly scurrying and bustling to provide drive-up orders with maximum efficiency.I can't fault management nor the on duty staff for outstanding efforts to comply with the altered corporate mandates that I'm sure have resulted in increased profitability, but I miss the old Starbucks atmosphere
