Best authentic Mexican spot I've had in the Richmond area! Their homemade salsas are everything

Delicious and affordable. Not gluten-free friendly even if you avoid ordering anything with gluten in it due to kitchen cross contamination, sadly.

I passed by this place so many times and decided to stop by for takeout. Inside, there are a few tables and a counter where you place your order. It smelled so good when I walked in. I ordered the quesabirria tacos and my mom ordered a beef burrito with a side of rice and beans. The portions were huge and definitely worth the prices, which was very reasonable. The quesabirria tacos were okay taste wise. The consume had way too much oil. I had to keep using my spoon to bypass the oil. My mom loved her burrito and rice and beans. She said that they were both flavorful and she had plenty leftover for the next day. I'll be back to try out some other items in the menu.

I used to love this place when I was younger. Especially their churros. I popped by the other day to seize the opportunity for the $1.99 tacos. I got five tacos, wish I got like 8 since they were so small. I got two carne asada, two beef, and one chorizo. Then I got a few of the mild/ spicy sauce they have sitting out in front of the counter. They service was okay, the girl was pretty nice. Now the tacos, I don't remember them being this mid. The carne asada tacos were decent, They weren't dry. The beef tacos were dry and unseasoned. I could only enjoy them if I put a lot of the salsa on them. I was pretty disappointed in those. The Chorizo tacos were the best ones and I think it's because chorizo has its own kid of flavor. Everything else was dry or unseasoned and tasted like they didn't try. Then the fill the tacos with raw onions and cilantro which I thought I wouldn't mind until I smelled like onions for the rest of the day talking to my patients lmao.

Authentic, delicious, great value. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Enjoy watching some soccer while you scarf down your meal.

Taco carnitas! Taco carnitas! Taco carnitas! Yum! These tacos were delish! My friend and I went to this Mexican restaurant on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised! The carnitas were juicy and had the perfect seasoning and spicy kick ! The plantains were fried just right and the rice was nice and fluffy! The salsa was hearty, not watery like some, and crispy, lightly salted tortilla chips were on time! If you're after authentic Mexican grub, this place fits the bill. Speaking of the bill, the prices were fair for the portions. The restaurant was pretty simple, not very festively decorated but bright and clean. To order, you go to the counter and a server delivers your food. There are also condiments and extra napkins on the front counter, along with a dessert case. There's a beverage case filled with sodas and other drinks. Some days they have special taco night for discounts so I've got to return for that! Whenever I'm on the southside, I will remember this tasty spot!

It's been years since I've had authentic Mexican food. Anyway I read the reviews and I pass by this restaurant at least 4 to 5 days a week. It's always busy that's for sure. So I decided see what they were all about. Ok we placed the order and went to pick it up. First all of there was a language barrier going on over the phone. Once getting to the restaurant again there was a language barrier. Anyway, we thought that this was an actual Mexican restaurant but it was more like a fast food restaurant that sells Mexican food. They don't sell alcoholic beverages so that was a disappointment. Back the food I ordered the chicken and steak quesadilla with rice no beans and I had one of the sodas. The food was really good, but I didn't like the taste of the shell. Not sure if it was because they had wrapped the shells in Reynolds's wrap and they had become soggy. Not sure but they got tossed right in the trash. Not sure if I'll go back or not.

I'm a self proclaimed Mexican food snob originally from CA so my expectations are set pretty high. This place has been my go to, especially on Wednesdays for their taco special. Eat here and you won't regret it!

Food was pretty terrible. Very dry. Only flavor was the super hot sauce. My taco had bones in it and I'm lucky I didn't damage a tooth or choke on it. Service was pretty bad they could not understand me and my order of 1 steak taco and 1 chicken taco came out as 6 awful chicken tacos. Rather than argue further I just paid and left.

This has got to be my FAVE taco spot here in Richmond. The service is fast and the food is to die for. They have these amazing sauces that is self serve. I love coming here for a quick bite. I love coming here for their $1.99 Wednesday night tacos. I just only wish they were open late night, they would attract so many people for the late night munchies.

Cute little spot to enjoy what tasted like authentic Mexican food. I'm sure when I make it to Mexico one day I'll have a different opinion of what authentic Mexican food is though. Lol I, as well as my two Jamacan friends really enjoyed the food. We were very pleased with everything we ordered.

Super delicious tacos. I got the tacos Al pastor and hubs got tacos with chorizo with a side of rice and beans. The salsa bar is wonderful too. We both got our tacos on flour tortillas with cilantro and onions. Amazing! We will be back.

If you're looking for a no-frills, truly authentic Mexican restaurant, this is the place. The cozy ambiance is not fancy but adds to the overall charm. They even play Tele Mundo on the TV, making you feel like you're in the heart of Mexico. But the real star of the show is the food. The tacos were delicious and packed with flavor, while the cactus and shrimp burrito was a unique, tangy delight. And for dessert, don't miss out on the flan - it's the perfect ending to a great meal. Overall, I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a real taste of Mexico.
