The food is incredible. The server was very nice, I just wish she was a bit more professional and wrote things down, rather than yelling back to the kitchen through the main dining area--it messed with the vibe a bit, but I'd definitely return.Parking: It's a full lot, easy to park in

Run... don't walk!! One of the best meals I have ever eaten! I had no idea this restaurant existed and I have been telling everyone I know since my visit last week. Since we had a mid size party for work we were able to try a variety of dishes to meet all of our different tastes... from lamb, potato skins, dumplings, saffron cake to name a few. It wasn't just the delicious food and attentive staff, but it was Chef Noori that left the biggest and lasting impression. We were honored to hear the history of the restaurant and his story. Worth a read it on their website. Nothing short of amazing and it's inspiring to be in the company of someone that LOVES what they do, is grateful for the opportunity to do it, and they use their talent and gift to bless others. Can't wait to go back!! I was too busy eating to take any photos :-)

Overall some good food and a friendly atmosphere. The staff is very warm and welcoming. There are some odd design choices there, insofar as decor is concerned, but I like the slight quirk. My only concern was that the floor was oddly slick, maybe waxed? I worried about slipping on the way to the bathroom.Service: quick and friendly but not attentive. Needed to be called over. Order was accurate and food came quickly.Food: well presented and delicious. Beef mantu had excellent texture and flavor. Aush E Tund soup was hearty and delicious, but was served lukewarm, which seemed odd. I've had chilled soups and hot soups but never room temp. Beef Koobideh was hot, nicely spiced and the rice was a perfect accompaniment. The hot, crispy garlic naan with yogurt sauce was perhaps the best thing served. It was buttery and vaguely transcendant. On the other hand, dessert was underwhelming. The rice pudding tasted like it was out of a box and the saffron cake was an overly sweet lemon cake with a drizzle of saffron syrup. So a mixed bag, here. I'll be back, for sure.

My team just had the best dinner at The Mantu in RVA .Amazing upscale Afghan food. Chef Hamidullah Noori puts such love and care into his food and you can taste it! His heart for the community and those who are finding their way encourages all to do just a little better. Our party was open to trying as many things as we could. Favorite and most surprising appetizer- potato skins, most favorite entree was a tie between the sea bass and lamb. The veggie dumplings were so good too. Lots of veggie options. Favorite dessert was the saffron cake.. Did I mention the very attentive service? They were so welcoming and helpful. Whether you are looking to try some new flavors, need a good date night, or just want a great meal I highly recommend The Mantu! Reservations are a good idea. They also have great lunch options. I can't wait to go back!Vegetarian options: Loved the vegetable dumplings and grilled veggiesParking: Plenty of parking in a safe, well lit lot.
