Hey There Y'all

"Salsa" was pico de Gallo. Not much flavor.Chips seemed store bought. No flavor.I found the other salsas to be so cold they had ice crystals! Couldn't tell the difference except by color.Corn tortillas were warmed only. No char (which is necessary)The carne asada (steak) was delicious and a highlight of the meal.I probably won't return

10/10 experience!! we had the nachos, the tacos locos, and the churros which were all incredible. it’s so hard finding delicious, safe food as a person with celiac—so happy to have found this place! the service was excellent too: attentive, kind, and helpful. highly recommend whether you’re local or visiting! :)

Everything is gluten free, awesome! But those were the dryest, saddest pupusas I've ever had. They should be embarrassed. The churros were fine, but you could tell the oil was old. Front of house is killing it, they need to replace the whole back of the house.

Excellent food and service. Waiter took time to chat with us. One item we ordered was not available, he took time to suggest other items we may like just as much.

The service was good but I had the worst tacos of my life: dry, tasteless, almost non eatable:

Great food! Closest to authentic Mexican food I've had in RVA. I highly recommend the fried potatoes as a side.Tip: I should've ordered guac as a side (instead of black beans) for the free chips. The chips come with pico de gallo.

Been going here about once every two weeks for last 2 months or so. Wonderful food—although I will agree with a few reviewers sometimes the food seems under seasoned but this is quickly remedied with their house hot sauces, some lime and or salt and pepper ie easy fixes. Especially recommend their lengua, pork belly and fish tacos, and do opt for the house made tortillas. I’ll admit i haven’t ventured too far into the menu but it’s difficult to find good beef tongue and pork belly tacos. Will agree that $10 chips and queso is a bit much but restaurants have to make their margins somewhere I suppose.House margaritas are really nice, too, and they have a respectable selection of tequilas and mezcals. Atsmosphere is cool, all the Dia de los Muertos themed art and street art. Music selection is upbeat and enjoyable although maybe a little loud, especially when it’s not crowded in there.Service is prompt and friendly. Parking is available in a lot across the street and on the street nearby. Overall some of the better Mexican food i’ve found in the downtown area.Vegetarian options: Definitely noticed they had vegetarian options but i didn’t order them.Parking: Seemed like maybe 10 spots they share with LuLu’s and plenty of paid and free street parking on the surrounding blocks.

It’s awesome to find a totally gluten free Mexican place, even better when the food is delicious! Great food, great margs, great service.Dietary restrictions: A dedicated gluten free kitchen is a joy to find, especially when the tacos are great!

First time dining here. The house margarita was tasty and is a good value. Their selection of tequilas seemed impressive. What was not impressive were their sauces/dips. The guacamole was absolutely flavorless, the pico just tasted like watery diced tomatoes, and their house-made hot sauces all tasted extremely bland. I appreciate that they had a selection of sauces though. We got tacos and those were pretty good... I really just wanted a nice hot sauce to set it off! The frijoles charros were pretty good as well.

We stopped by for a quick afternoon snack and were pleasantly surprised at how quickly we were taken care of. In spite of the fact that there was only one waiter and many tables occupied, Gavin did an exceptional job with an excellent attitude. The food was delicious; the extra plus is the restaurant is dog friendly. I’d definitely come back!

Service and quality have declined lately. I wish they would get back to their old quality and service, because it feels like they are cutting corners now despite their semi-limited hours. Drink quality has declined as well, which is really disappointing. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the gluten free kitchen, homemade tortillas, and pork belly tacos.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free friendly.
