I've been to both locations. At every visit, there has been disappointment, and the customer service has been consistently poor. Staples Mill location was worse. They never have the items in the case that I wanted, staff were rude. One time I placed an order online, received a confirmation, went to pick up at Staples Mill, they did not have the order and could not have cared less. I placed another order online again (my friend from out of town loves the oatmeal cookies), my credit card was charged, I arrived at Staples Mill to find it had closed. I have been unable to find any phone number to call to get my money back. Not only are they rude when present, they are also unethical in their business practices. Stay away from this business!

I'm in love with this bakery! They have the best buttery chocolate croissants. If you're in the area you must visit

Great, unless you expect to be able to actuall sit down in a group and enjoy each other's company. Went there on 3/09/24 Has seating for mayber 20 at best. Unfortunately, the center table that seats 8 was occupied by 7 young women and one black man who didn't have any food or drink in front of them and yet didn't seem to care...evidently they were there for the wifi. Owner and/or staff didn't care. What good is it to have a restaurant if there's no seating available. Neither of the people behind the counter, one older white woman and one early 20's white guy, didn't seem to care. Highly not recommended. Both for lack of foresite in providing adequate seating and for lack of giving a crap who were occuppying the seats. Not at all recommended. Unless you like to enjoy your drinks and pastries out on the street. I guess this is what you can expect from the new millenial culture.

Top 5 coffee shops all time. Everything is reasonable priced, pastries and breakfasts are the staple.Top 2 bakery pastries of all time.

Cute little coffee shop and bakery with friendly associates and mediocre sandwiches. I decided to stop in for lunch on a rainy Saturday. There were quite a few people sitting on their computers when I walked in. I opted for a Parisian sandwich: ham and cheese on a baguette with mustard butter. To say the sandwich was underwhelming would be an understatement. The ham and cheese were tasty, but the mustard butter was slathered on the bread and was definitely more butter than mustard. Perhaps most disappointing was the bread, that was soggy and actually stale on the edge where it had been cut, not crunchy like real baguettes should be. I had high hopes that I had found a good French bakery, but I'll keep looking.

Excellent little breakfast place! Service was perfect. I highly recommend the almond crescent roll and dirty chai latte.

I have to laugh…… if you’re looking for a place to put legible writing on your cake, look again. It also wasn’t ready at pickup time, in fact they said they’d refund me altogether instead of just make the cake. But then they changed their minds and said they COULD actually make it. Sloppy just like the writing :/EDIT: this first cake was bad, but Billy the owner was super prompt in responding to me to make it right. I really appreciate that he went out of his way to resolve the issue in time for my wife’s birthday

I ordered 8 croissants online for a Saturday pick up. The process was quick and easy. I picked up my order with ease and the croissants were buttery and delicious.

The breakfast sandwich is usually good, but was cold in the middle this morning. Maybe it was a new employee. The atmosphere was relaxed as usual.

Wonderful experience! I visited a couple bakeries in Richmond for croissants. WHISK was the clear winner in taste and service. I loved the pepperoni croissant and croissant muffin (cruffin?). I'll definitely be returning to try more!

Delicious pastries - and their flavored syrups are just the right amount of sweetness. I only wish there were more macarons when I got there - a reminder to get there early!

I came in for breakfast. No one greeted me or let me know they would be right with me. I waited and when I ordered, they threw my food in a Togo box and gave it to me. I wanted my food to eat there. When I sat down I realized the feta artichoke croissant and monkey bread bite was ice cold. I went back up front to ask if it could be warmed up and they told me to hold on. I sat patiently for 15 mins. It was now dead inside and they just ignored me so I went up front and asked for a refund. No apologies give or anything. Also the pastry’s I touched with my hands were put back in the case for someone else to buy. Gross.

I always enjoy stopping in at Whisk. Their macarons are great--so much flavor and the texture is perfect. I also love their eclairs and enjoy the specialty eclair flavors they sometimes serve. I do wish Whisk offered a larger selection of pastries, as their bakery case is quite small and they often have very limited items. Coffee and breakfast sandwiches are pretty good too. While this isn't one of my favorite RVA bakeries, it is good and worth the stop if you are nearby.

One of the best bakeries in Richmond. The pastries are top teir. Just a little sweet for my liking. There croissant breakfast sandwich is a nice treat for the early mornings. The chai latte is one of my favorites so far.
