I love this place! I've ordered two pies from here and really liked both of them. The pies are huge and the crusts are baked well. I recommend the apple pie! Their pastries are also great, I especially like the caneles.

We did not have a great experience due to poor customer service from some of the staff. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches and after 25min still no food, so we asked what was happening. They checked with the kitchen and told us that the food was lost and they had no idea what had happened (this was not a busy morning at all) The poor rating is not for the lost food, things like that happen, instead the poor rating is for the fact that at no point in the conversation they apologized or said sorry for what happened, which I believe is basic customer service. First and last time!

WPA knocked our birthday cake out of the park. We had to accommodate dairy-free, egg-free, soy-free and gluten-free dietary restrictions and not only was the cake INCREDIBLE, but the service was so good. I emailed my inquiry and got a response quickly. I had a change the week of my order and it was accommodated with a smile. Our birthday girl, who had the dietary restrictions, could not believe that she could really eat the cake. We had one guest day he thought the WPA cake was better than the other one we had that was the same flavor but had gluten, dairy, egg and soy.WPA will now be our go-to bakery. I’m not from this area but from where I live there is not many Gluten Free options. My boyfriend lives in Richmond and took me here on my birthday and bought me a slice of GF pie and it was beyond what I expected. Today I had the PB & J (GF) cheesecake and it was delicious. WPA Bakery is my favorite place in Richmond. I greatly appreciate places like this that have GF options so I can also enjoy a treat. Thank you again!

I really love this place, but rarely go anymore because the employees are challenging to work with. Once I asked for a GF muffin and they gave me the gluten kind and we didnt realize until we got home. Sometimes the employees confuse GF and vegan.Last time I went, a male employee cut his finger and shouted expletives for 5 whole minutes. Seemed to be a paper cut situation. If made me extremely uncomfortable and I left.Called to place an order and the girl told me “you might have to call back because I might not remember.” WHAT?!!!!The employees act like they are doing rocket science. It’s not that hard to pack up a few muffins. I really don’t understand it. Occasionally I will get a competent employee but that’s the exception. I used to come every week but now just a few times a year because it’s such an ordeal to get a few items.

Ordered some vegan baked goods for a birthday. Not only did they get them done incredibly quick, but they looked and tasted absolutely incredible. Been coming here for a while, but this is my first time pre-ordering a cake and donuts. Would highly recommend!

Nice place to sit and chill on a wet winter day! Great food! GF options! Had chicken salad on homemade wheat, delicious! Great price point. Huge sandwich. Took home half for later. The chocolate chess pie was so rich and chocolatey! Definitely would come again. Thanks Matt for the helpful, quick and friendly service.

I ordered many times from this bakery. So far it is the best bakery that can do gluten-free, vegan and soy free cakes and pies. Bakers are always very responsive and open to do different flavors and combinations that are not on the standard menu. In the past year I ordered here a vanilla cake with lemon filling, chocolate cake with vegan Nutella and strawberry filling, and chocolate cake with peppermint frosting and covered with candy canes. For my recent birthday I ordered blueberry pie and it was fantastic too. They are also reasonably priced. Highly recommended this place and will order again. I wish I had more pictures but these cakes just disappeared to fast :)

I've had a few homeruns here. First off, the service is pleasant and helpful. My fave menu items as of now are the white chocolate cheesecake (best cheesecake my hubby has ever had-his words), & the mushroom pizza paquet (outstanding!!!!). The cosmic brownie is slightly above average, as is the coffee cake. The caneles are the best I've had and I'm not a canele person. Overall, there is something for everyone here. Just got to find what you like.
The pastries, pies and cakes look exceptional and I can tell they are made with care and love. I had to walk out as the service by the gentleman wasn’t…I know I should have called way ahead of time instead of getting my cake for my bday instead of the day of- but I was willing to do a platter of all sorts of slices for my fam to enjoy. Was about to spend a lot. It’s probably just a thing where he and I just weren’t vibing well on this day. Will come back and get coffee and a pastry and very likely give this place the six out of five it deserves.

I live in the neighborhood and love this place. Ive spent time in DC and Charlottesville and nothing there compares to WPA. The muffins are 100. And the breakfast sandwich is a go to. Part of my weekend routine.
