Love going this restaurant whenever passing through. Service is always great. Elise tonight was probably the best server I’ve had in years anywhere. We had a blast!

It’s simply the best food, drinks, and atmosphere.

Very charming restaurant. Nice decor. Awesome service. Nice atmosphere. However, her Australian Seabass was paperthin like tilapia. After discussing the fish with the manager he said their sea bass are thin fillets. Don't try to serve it to a fisherman. Overall. Very nice place to take the family

Whenever I visit Roanoke, I make sure one of my stops is Abuelo’s! The restaurant is always very clean, staff is friendly and very helpful explaining the menu. The food and drinks never disappoint! It’s nice that the managing partner Jason is always working with his staff and greeting guests!

The service was good but the food was terrible. I ordered fries on the side instead of beans. When the food was brought to me, there were beans. I told the waitress that I ordered fries. She left but didn't come back. When she came back to check on us, I asked her about my fries. She just turned around and walked away. When she came back with the fries, they were burnt and too crunchy. There was no flavor. Will not come back.

Arroz con pollo was not on the menu. The cheese they used was yellow cheese you can get from the store. Not like the normal cheese dip we get from other Mexican restaurants. The chicken tasted like hot dogs. Will not come back.

This place is lovely and well decorated. The customer service was pretty good, but the food is not what I expected. The cheese was not like what I’ve had at other Mexican restaurants. It was yellow and looked like Tostitos salsa con queso. When the French fries were brought to my family, they were burnt. I did not want to finish my food.

My wife and I ate his this evening and without a doubt one of the most pleasant dining experiences I can recall. I give them a merely 5 stars because ther is no better option. My wife had the Pechuga con Calabaza which is chicken breast with a vegetable sauce. It was tender, flavorful and delicious. I got the Pork Tenderloin Abrigade, pork tenderloin medallions wrapped in bacon. They were melt in your mouth tender You get your choice of any 2 enchiladas. I tried the spinach one and let me tell you, I was amazed at how delicious that was. Also had the ground beef enchilada and it was a cut above as well. The place is a little bit pricey, but all in all, well worth the price. Oh, yes, if anyone from Abuelo's reads this, Our waiter, Leo needs a raise. The dude was outstanding. Friendly, great service, stayed on top of everything.

Wonderful! Was taken here for my birthday this past weekend, upon entering we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff . The restaurant was moderately busy but our party of 8 were still seated quickly. At our table we were served warm chips and salsa. Our food was flavorful, my tacos were crisp, and the margaritas were delicious. This was a perfect place for our casual dinner. We look forward to our next visit.

We were looking forward to eating at this restaurant after reading the reviews. It looks like Covid has taken it's toll here. Like many restaurants they are short staffed and even though they weren't very busy the service was slow. With that said, the food wasn't inspired either. There were three of us and nobody was impressed. Maybe they'll make a comeback when things return to the pre-Covid days.

Up on entering the restaurant I noticed how clean it was, the host was very polite. When our server came he introduced himself as he was placing chips and salsa, asked what we wanted to drink. Retuning right away with our water and said my drink was being made. After receiving our food which was great offered more chips and drinks. He was very attentive and polite. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was warm. Yes I'll be going back.

We dined there on a Friday evening... the service was excellent and very knowledgeable towards the menu and how the items were prepared... we ordered the fajitas for two... the entree came with a small plate of tasty condiments including guacamole and sour cream... I requested cilantro which was happily provided... the entree was more than ample and when we finished eating we had another meal to take home with the extra food... this is the first time in a while the beef or chicken was not over cooked... everything was excellent except for the pricing of the menu maybe just because of the virus and lost income... the decor was very pleasing... even though the experience was pleasing doubt whether we will return because of the pricing...
