Always great...my fave VA-based brewery, and this location doesn't disappoint!

Have passed by this place a few times while downtown, but never gone in and was not disappointed! It's larger inside than expected with three floors of seating and has a few larger tables for bigger parties. All the food we got was good and came out fast. It was around 2 pm on a Saturday when we went and wasn't overly busy. We particularly liked the seating at the top because we had a good view of the City Market Plaza. They had a few TVs playing bearing sporting events if that's your thing, and had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. We ordered the Craft Ginger Beer and lemonade and the Ginger Beer was good without being too spicy while on the other hand the lemonade was very tart. A little added sugar balanced it out, but the note is for those who like it that way. Prices were fair. Spent about $27 with Appetizer (Price split between two), Drink, and Food. Will eat here again! Food ordered: Three Notch'd Nachos, Hatch Chile Burger, Peach and Chile Chicken Sandwich; Photos: @nokesidefoodie

Went searching for a yummy IPA left with a 6 pack of the Mango wheat beer. Interesting surprise! Also the hummus is delicious.

Wow! Where to start, came here thinking it was just another brewery and we would be served typical basic bar food, boy was I wrong. They have delicious appetizers, the soup and food was amazing, great quality, delicious, I highly recommend coming here. The list of craft beverages was extensive and provides options for everyone, even those who don't want to consume alcohol, they have options for you. Again everything was fantastic and we will definitely be back for more!!

Arrived at 630 pm ordered appetizers around 645 was told around 720 they ran out. Reordered something else. No waitress contact for a while. When she came back at 725 we ask to go ahead and place order. Appetizers still not on table at 740.  Teas, waters,  drinks empty. Finally at  743 got one of appetizers,  blond waitress ( taller one) was ask if other was coming out she rudly said " apologize but we only have one cook in kitchen". Second appetizer out at 750. Someone in our party celebrating a birthday,  they brought out dessert, nice but would like my meal first. Food finally arrived  805. I will give credit. Brussel sprouts were excellent.  Burger cooked to order, well done, but did not have all the ingredients,  bacon left off. Refills were brought after food arrived, so we ran out of drinks during the wait. Our waitress was very nice and did the best she could do, dark ling hair. All in all, If you have 2 hours to spend waiting,  food is ok, atmosphere louder than usual, there are steps if you eat upstairs, and wait staff is fair. Update: Response very positive from review, will give this establishment another try.

OMG the best cheeseburgers and fun selection of beers - our favorite was the stout! Friendly people, casual atmosphere, and easy to find for two weary hikers after a day on the trails. A new tradition!

A welcome find for two worn out hikers! Best cheeseburger ever- and loved the stout. A good selection of beers for most palates, and friendly place to relax. A new post-hike tradition!

Food and beer were excellent. Service was super slow and non-attentive and the restaurant was slow this evening. Took 5 minutes to get 1st round and after food delivered didn’t get a follow up visit till finished.

Found this restaurant after reading articles about breweries in the Roanoke area. It was a great find. The Local Lager was delicious, more on the malty side than hoppy. Very refreshing! We also had the cheesesteak and the hot honey chicken sandwich. The cheesesteak was on the smaller side but plenty to fill you up. The hot honey chicken was so good! Would definitely go back.

For starters our server Jess was a hit! Very attentive and her recommendations were spot on. I appreciated her honesty when asked about certain menu items. Needless to say her recommendations started us off with a bang. For an appetizer we had the Alfredo Dip and it was so mouth watering. Literally could not get enough of it!! The bread was freshly made with topped with melted Parmesan cheese. To drink my buddy had the Scarecrow Punch and I had the Peach Inferno Margarita: To words THE BOMB! The inferno margarita is definitely a drink that will creep up on you. So sip unless you are trying to get smashed LOL! The Scarecrow tasted like a spice apple punch! Neither drink disappointed! For dinner she had the Caprese Chicken sandwich and I ordered the Hatch Chile Burger. The Caprese if ordered on another bun would have been better. The baguette that it came on was much smaller compared to the chicken and more sauce would have set this sandwich off. Again it wasn’t a huge negative because the over meal was great. In the end let’s just say we are beyond full and pleased with our experience!
