“We stopped here for first time Saturday. We were very pleased with the food. My wife had a BBQ Sandwich and I had a Cheeseburger. Both were very good. Our appetizer was fried pickles. They appeared to be hand battered and not pre-made. Very good!! We will be stopping on our future visits to Wythville.”

The atmosphere was inviting, capturing the quaint essence of its location perfectly. The staff was extremely friendly, adding to the warm, welcoming vibe of the shop.Service was impressively quick, a plus for anyone eager to start their day with a minimal wait. The coffee itself was exceptional; I opted for a 24 oz iced butter pecan coffee with an extra shot of espresso, which was beautifully crafted and intensely flavorful. The homemade thick whipped cream topping truly elevated the entire drink, adding a luxurious touch that I greatly appreciated.However, I feel compelled to give The Grind Coffee Shop four stars out of five due to the limited availability of several menu items, which were either sold out or no longer carried. This did slightly detract from the overall experience, yet it was a minor hiccup in an otherwise lovely visit.I recommend going in with an open mind—you'll likely find yourself pleasantly surprised and thoroughly satisfied. It’s an ideal spot for a peaceful Saturday morning, allowing you to soak in the serene vibes of this picturesque locale while enjoying some seriously good coffee.”

“I have always loved Petals! The addition of the food and wine/beer bar is amazing! The food is unique and super fresh and delicious! A wonderful longtime business in Wytheville in the cutest part of town. They also have a super cute gift shop. One stop shop for all!”

“We grabbed breakfast here while staying overnight in Wytheville. We enjoyed a jalapeño bagel with jalapeño cheddar cream cheese plus a pumpkin (seasonal) bagel with cinnamon cream cheese. Both were fantastic!”

“I went to the Gospel Music Show, and thought that it was one of the best that I have seen!! I was very impressed with all of the songs picked, and also how they were sung!! Matter of fact, I might just go see that show again.... really, really good!”

“Absolutely stunning establishment. The beef stew was core memory inducing magic that felt as if it time traveled from 1776 straight to my plate. The atmosphere was stunning, and the staff was extremely friendly and a joy to meet. The gift shop in the back is phenomenal and I wish I could decorate my entire home with their wares. 10/10. One of the most memorable meals I've had in awhile. My only complaint is that this place is 6 hours away from my home! Maybe I'll have to move closer! Thank you to everyone involved in preserving the past in this fantastic loghouse restaurant.”

“Husband and I spent $40 on 2 plates of food. Mine was cold and tasted horrible (chicken bowl) and he had brisket with beans and mac n cheese his food was luke warm and his mac n cheese tasted spoiled! Another person in our group got a baked potato that wasn't fully cooked! Will not try again!”

“Stopped in for a delicious breakfast while my windows were being tinted up the road at Houseman's. The food was very tasty, coffee was topped off and warm without asking for it, the little old lady who runs the place keeps a tidy shop. Good portions and reasonable prices. Would have had no idea it was a restaurant without being told about it. Maybe I missed the sign if there was one outside.”

“A great lil spot. Pancakes are huge and fluffy; and their omelets are top notch. Not looking for breakfast? The mushroom Swiss burger never disappoints, but the a hot dog with chili & slaw just can’t be beat. Add an order of their perfect onion rings, and you’re in diner food heaven. The coffee’s strong & hot — the tea, sweet & cold. The Diner’s a clean, bright, friendly lil place. Stop in next time you’re in our lovely valley.”

“Best waffle house experience. Bathrooms were incredibly clean, the staff were so beyond friendly, and the other customers were just as friendly as the staff. Food was everything I needed it to be and then some.”

“Hats off to the owner greeting and welcoming you at the door - the waitress was at our table within minutes and was very helpful with choosing our menu choices. The food served within a short wait did not disappoint either - the serving size was huge and definitely does not disappoint even the most hungry patron. “Great good! I got the Bacon Chicken Wrap and was really blown away by the flavor and the textures. This might be a "free" Cafe but that doesn't mean the food is substandard. The bacon was crispy, Chicken was juicy, lettuce was fresh, and the tortilla warm. My fries were crispy (I asked for them that way). And the squash casserole was the star of the show. I wish I would have bought a meal of just that. It was fire.”

“We used to go to Cracker Barrel all the time. It was our "go to" stop when we traveled. So when we decided to stop, I was a little bit excited. But the food did not live up to my memories. It could be that my memories are just biased. But we were there at lunch and it was busy, so I would not have expected things to be stale or drier than expected. I got the meat loaf, whole corn and mashed potatoes.We will stop again to give it another try, but I was kind of disappointed about this stop.”

“Stopped here after hearing how great the dogs are. They have been closed a while for remodel and updates. First time visit for me. Skeeter dogs are the red dogs. They do have all beef too. I opted for the red ones. Added slaw no onion. Really good dog. Will return. Service was great too. Make a stop if you can.”

“While I still recommend C.J's, I normally don't do this, but. I've loved the pizza from here for years! The white cheddar cheese is so different and delicious, however, we ordered a party tray this evening with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and extra cheese and the cost was around $29. We get home and one box has one entire side of the pizza folded over onto the adjoining pieces and stuck together. It was a mess to say the least. Several pieces barely had toppings and it definitely appeared to not have extra cheese. The sauce had a twang to it and didn't taste the same whatsoever. The crust edge was so hard it literally hurt trying to bite through it. And for whatever reason, it looked as if a child had attempted to slice it. Overall, it was a nasty mess and without question the worst experience I've ever had here. Just a very disappointing presentation. If it wasn't for the fact of gas prices, I'd have definitely driven back to Wytheville and asked for a refund. I hate to ever complain, but this mess wasn't worth $3 let alone almost $30......Sure hope this was simply a mistake, or a different cook and not what to expect in the future.”

“Oh, so good. Husband had s sesame chicken, I had General Tso‘s chicken. Both were delicious. Came here last year passing through and it was delicious then too.”

“Our basketball team was in town for a basketball tournament on March 16th and figured we would give it a try. We called them up to see if they had room for 24 people and they said come on, we will get the banquet room ready. We were 5 minutes away. We showed up and after a 10 - 15 minute wait, we were seated. The staff were very friendly and courteous. They made sure they kept the salad bar stocked and fresh, drinks refilled, and that the food was correct and accurate. The food was good. I had a thin crust supreme pizza which was very tasty. My wife had the BBQ chicken pizza. She said it was good but prefers the BBQ sauce drizzled vs a heavy dose on the pizza. She enjoyed the pizza overall. No one in our group had any complaints. If we are back in town again for another tournament, we will visit again. Nice town, great tournament, and good people. Thanks from the GATA 7th grade girls basketball team/family.”

“This restaurant situated inside a lovely, restored hotel is very elegant. It was thoughtfully decorated and has a nice atmosphere. We didn't have a reservation but was seated within 30 mins. (That was fine with me.) The menu was a bit limited but that is appropriate considering it was all homemade dishes with fresh ingredients. Jade, our server, was very kind and friendly. My husband ordered the fried chicken and that was good. My son ordered the steak that was good as well. I ordered the shrimp and grits and that was seasoned a bit too much. Jade brought out our food in a timely manner but then didn't come back to check on us for a very long time. I ran out of water because the shrimp was too spicy. She came back about 20-30 mins later. She did comp my dinner with a free dessert. I was hoping the manager would pop over while we were eating our entrees but he did not.Overall, a good experience and I would recommend it, just not the shrimp n grits.”
