We always get consistently good food and service at El Gran Puerto. We were seated right away and our server was attentive without being annoying. They started us with chips and salsa and brought more with our meal. The meals came quickly and were hot. I had the veggie fajitas hubby order several items ala carte, and we each had one beer. Didn’t check out the restrooms, but the dining room was clean.

Found this place on a whim while looking at used cars. It's hidden off the freeway a bit but so worth it. The food is fresh. The menu has lots of options for lunch and dinner. The family atmosphere is perfect. The staff are friendly and attentive. I had the fajitas and husband has chicken burrito. We are from California and it's always difficult to find good, fresh, authentic, and flavorful Mexican food! This place is a must if you're driving through the area!

I got the Molcajete,A hot lava rock bowl filled with choice of shrimp, sirloin steak, chicken or carnitas, charro beans, salsa de molcajete, chorizo, nopales, onions and mushrooms. It's all covered with queso asadero. Baked in their brick oven and served with fresh guacamole and flour tortillas. It takes just a few minutes(maybe 3-5) longer to cook but it's worth the little extra wait!
