First visit last year service at the bar was awesome! Visited again today to dine in. Waited over 10 mins before leaving due to no waiters coming to our table. They were fully staffed and it was not crowded. Poor service.

We had a fish and chips luch with them on the Sunday. We've eaten here before and always enjoyed it. Today, not so much. An off day? The hostess was not friendly at all. No welcoming smile, or even kind words. Just going thru the motions...Our waitress(Jamie) was sweet, very attentive, and she was the highlight of this visit. The best thing about the food today was the side salad and hushpuppies.

This place is remote but so crowded, no one could consider it hidden! It's obviously a well-known place for locals. The wait was an hour for dinner at 7:00 pm on a Saturday evening. We were seated after about 50 minutes. I was VERY impressed with the hostess. She was very patient and professional with the folks who kept pressing her about how much longer they'd have to wait for a table. She's a pro! We were seated and had already perused the menu while we waited so we were ready to order (and hungry) when we sat down. Our server was Mashonda and she was friendly and helpful, despite being incredibly busy. The menu had a very good variety of selections and specials. The food arrived quickly and was cooked perfectly. It was delicious! It's easy to see why it's a local favorite. The two reasons they get 4 stars and not 5 is because the tables are packed too close together. That meant we could hear every conversation around us as if we were all sitting at the same table. The other reason is because there are no bussers to clean the tables. The servers do it and they're already run ragged. They really don't have the time to offer good service AND bus tables. Management should really consider hiring bussers. No one likes to see so many dirty tables around. I'd go back but not on a busy Saturday night. The food was worth the trek from Newport News, but I'd prefer to enjoy my dinner in a cleaner and quieter environment.

Came here for the weekend and I must say I love the rooms over the restaurant. The rooms were nice and clean and smelled great upon walking in. The food was amazing would definitely come back but my only bad thing is they don’t have Rockefeller oysters without the bacon. Pescatarians love seafood and to be told I can’t get my favorite seafood without bacon was very very heartbreaking to me. Still will come back but hoping they will change how the Rockefeller oysters are made.
I had planned a birthday dinner for my husband here, based on the great reviews. We took the Jamestown Ferry over for a little fun with the kids. We were VERY disappointed in EVERYTHING at this restaurant. The service was terrible, the waitress who we didn't see much, did not give us much attention and was just inconvenienced by us being there! The food was really Sub-Par. There was 7 of us, so we ordered the seafood platters both fried and broiled, crab cakes, shrimp basket, salmon, salads....The 2 that had the seafood platters were said they were "good" but nothing was great and all the other meals were less then good.
