I'm giving them three stars to average out the five-star food and the one-star service. We went on a Friday evening, were given a table, and were ignored for quite some time, even though it didn't seem to be very full -- there were a couple large parties, and some other tables in use, but still several empty tables. We got menus, and were ignored for another quite-a-while. We ordered, including the Chrysanthemum Tea... the waitress said something about Jasmine Tea and hustled off before we could inquire whether that's what was really meant on the menu, or what. Either way, we didn't get even our tea (let alone food, though I realize duck soup takes a while) for a Very Long Time. The waitress did see us and remember something about tea after what seemed like at least half an hour... and still didn't bring it for what seemed like at least ten more minutes... and then it was, as far as I could tell, plain green tea. Eventually we did get our duck soup, and it was in fact very good, with fresh hand-pulled noodles and all. As you may have guessed, it was quite a long wait for the check after we were done, including trying for about five minutes to flag down a waitress. And in case you were wondering, as we had been... yes, the check still had the more expensive Chrysanthemum Tea on it. Might be worth going at some very off hour, or to pick up carryout . . . but I would not recommend it at all for dine-in at normal dinner times.

My parents have been on the hunt for good Cantonese food in this area since they moved. I hadn't been to Lotus Garden for a long time, but saw some positive reviews on Vienna Foodies so suggested we give it a try. Everything was really good -- the only item that wasn't great is the beef in the hand-pulled noodles, but the noodles themselves and broth were tasty. We also enjoyed crispy walnut shrimp, two kinds of beef chow fun -- one dry stir-fried and one with gravy (generous portion), Kingdom pork chops (first place in the area that my mom says makes it right!). My picky parents who are former NYer said that they would definitely come back!

I have to give this place all 5 stars. We have been coming to them for years and definitely top 5 Chinese restaurants in the DC area. Very surprising they are not receiving more 5 stars.

My fav go-to local Chinese joint. This place always delivers and when I do have to go somewhere else because someone else chooses, can’t help but comparing and feeling like I have to eat here soon after to make up for the subpar Chinese food I just had elsewhere. LOVE their in-house made noodles (knife-cut is my preference if you like thick chewy noodles) in the pork with fermented soybean paste (pronounced ja jang myun). Not a noodle soup dish but comes with a small side of broth. A WINNER!

This is the best Chinese food in all of Fairfax County. Enormous selection of dishes and super service. A must whether you live close by or not!

AUTHENTIC!!! This is genuine Cantonese, Hong Kong-style cooking if, a big IF, you order from those parts of the menu with real Chinese food rather than generic Americanized food. As a San Francisco native raised by Chinese immigrant parents, I would consider this average, or very good, in a SF Asian neighborhood. In the DMV, this is among the top tier. For me, this is total comfort food.Yes, the hand-pulled noodles are great, especially with the roast duck or beef brisket. The tell on a Hong Kong trained chef is the deftness with seafood that produces the MOST succulent and moist fish. Just too many really good authentic items on the menu.Service is culturally consistent and efficiently functional where you must get their attention.Insider tip: the chef making the hand-pulled noodles has Tuesdays off.Parking: Parking is usually good except for some busy weekend evenings.

The beef in the beef noodle tasted off and gave me indigestion. Also fly in my drink that ruined the experience.

The food is good. Too bad they have bad service. The waitres was being races. She didn't give us any water, until I asked for water. They gave me the wrong food and it takes forever to bring white rice. When I saw another table, the waitress gave really nice service. I won't recommend this restaurant and will never come again.

This is our local favorite but post pandemic I noticed a change in some dishes. Ordered orange chicken and was very disappointed, flat rice noodles were not as flavorful. Luckily the hand pulled noodles are still good! Service was really bad, after 45 minutes of waiting for our food we had to reorder??? Sadly, we will think twice before coming back here.

This place specializes in hand pulled noodles. The noodles are pulled fresh (or shaved from fresh block of dough). There is a display of the hand pull noodle action and it certainly provides some entertainment value to customers. The beef noodle soup is not the spicy kind. The broth is refreshing and yet flavorful. The dishes come out quickly so the wait time is short. Other dishes are also well seasoned and savory.

Good authentic Chinese food! Service isn't that great though that's why I gave 4 star rating but good enough. My favorite spot for egg noodle soup and pan fried noodles.

Great food & selection. Reasonable prices & where the locals dine. Nice atmosphere & friendly efficient wait staff. It's sort of like being in Chinatown in San Francisco. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite places to get Chinese take-out in the Vienna area. No matter what you get the food is plentiful, delicious, and authentic. One of the best dishes on the menu is their hand pulled beef noodle soup. The fresh noodles really makes a difference, it's so bouncy and springy in your mouth and the broth is like a warm hug from a grandma. I'm a sucker for chicken fried rice, sesame chicken, and pan fried noodles and they do these dishes a solid here. I never leave disappointed. The interior reminds me of the old Chinese restaurants I used to frequent as a kid with the roasted ducks and bbq pork in the windows. They have lots of seating and it is always full of families sharing big platters of food. It's nothing fancy but places like these are truly a neighborhood gem!

Love the food, especially when dining in. Love the peanuts served while we're waiting for dinner!
