People from all over the world stop by Shamshiry when in town to dine.In addition to the amazing food and huge portions, the owners are charitable and are constantly giving back to the community.All the meat dishes are amazing Kubideh, Barg, chenjeh. Chicken with bone is amazing and savory as well. Save room for Persian ice cream! Shamshiry also has a private room next door that can host your parties. There is plenty of free parking there too. I have already written 5 star reviews for Shamshiry in the past, but wanted to write an updated review because it is still the best Persian (Iranian) restaurant in Virginia. People travel from all over the world to dine at Shamshiry. In addition to fresh, delicious food and generous portions, the owners are charitable and give back to the community. I recommend ordering the gheymeh or ghormeh stew with tahdig (crispy rice) as your starter, along with the shallot yogurt. My favorite main dishes are chenjeh kabab (ask for them to cook it medium) and bone-in Cornish hen chicken kabab (jujeh). I usually substitute white rice for the dill and fava bean rice (baghali polo) or the rice with sour cherries (albaloo polo). Save room for Persian ice cream! Shamshiry also has a private room next door that can host your parties. There is plenty of free parking there too. Enjoy!

Worst food ever this place is very very very overrated and overpricedIt’s just me, my husband and our 2 year old we paid $130 it is a large portion but the food doesn’t have any taste literally I was just eating because I was hungryI could’ve paid less for a better taste anywhere elseEdit : I will gladly share a copy of my transaction because I don’t have the receipt and I can send it to you just tell me howAlso catering major events and in the White House doesn’t mean that the food is great and that’s why I said it’s overratedI have great taste buds and I have traveled the world and tried all different cuisines and it’s my personal opinion

It changed alot. Not for better. Food was just ok, not above average comparing to prices. . Loud dance music singing on English and Spanish (it was first day of Iranian New year, and at least on that reason I expected something more relevant) Waiters needed to be called multiple times before they're decided to notice us, being very busy chatting by the counter.Gourmet Bazaar catering will offer you a better quality, MamanJoon - better service, and Amoo - better atmosphere. I am sorry, guys, but there is enough Iranian restaurant around to be as ignorant as you are
