Too bad they closed. Awesome food. Their cauliflower pizza was unbelievable. A real loss.

Small, stylish, long-lived, relatively recently renovated Italian joint with fire pits, local art, screen porches, and an amiable wooden wine bar. Artfully beautiful food, perfectly and thoughtfully, plated simply but with that special Italian chutzpah! Their fried shrimp are not as transcendent as at the other little Italian spot across the way, but we loved the ambiance, service, food, and wine.

This is a very nice restaurant, I wouldn't recommend it for date nights due to there being parties seating next to two person tables making it to loud for a peaceful dinner. The food was very good! Great service, very respectful staff! I was told that they sold the place and Bella Monte will be no more, definetly give it a try before they change to their next venture!

Food was delicious and our waitress was so kind! The ciabatta bread was flavorful and baked perfectly! I had a shrimp pasta dish and my husband had the lamb chops - both were so good! Loved the cozy vibes. Also loved the wine room connected to the restaurant - I stopped in and picked up a bottle for 30% off!! Great deal! Will definitely be returning!

Enjoyed a piping hot plate of bolognese accompanied by a cold stout. Bella Monte has a warm ambiance and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Appetizers came quickly followed by entrees in another 10 minutes tops. Quite pleased that this was the choice today's dinner.

This has been one our "go to" places where food and service were always outstanding. The service is still friendly and efficient but the food is far from what it used to be. Preparation and presentation have suffered. Last night one dish was so poorly prepared we simply sent it back...without replacement. Doubt we'll be back anytime soon.

I had Chicken Marsala and it was horrible. It had no flavor whatsoever. I heard that Bella Monte is being sold so I hope the new owner has a better chef. Bella Monte use to have great bread but I was told that they were losing money so they stopped making it! Big Mistake!

Nice quiet setting. Food is fresh. Save room for the cheese cake.

we have been to Bella Monte many times and have always had stellar service and meals... The restaurant was not very busy yet we were seated right next to a table of four and later a table of six, which hindered conversation a bit. Our server was polite but I felt she was either burnt out or simply did not want to be there. We stayed chatting (there were at least 2 other tables still there, and our server basically left us alone without refilling water glasses once we had paid the bill. I had to flag down the table of 6 's server for some water.... I love Bella Monte but felt this was not like our previous experiences.

The pasta was absolutely delicious. I had a shrimp pasta dish (don't remember the name) and I can tell there was hot sauce in the sauce. It was enough to taste but not enough to actually be hot. That was impressive but other than that it just felt like a average Italian restaurant.

My wife and I went to Bella Monte tonight for the first time and we loved it. The house wine was well above most house wine, the calamari was perfectly breaded, our meals were delicious and the tiramisu was truly amazing. But, best of all, was the staff. We so enjoyed meeting Kipper’s Mom, June’s Mom, and Heyman’s Mom. They were so kind and welcoming and created the perfect Monday Celebration. We will definitely be back- Cookies Mom & Dad

Driving on Laskin a couple of weeks ago and the sign Bella Monte happened to catch my eyes. So here it is, checking it out to see what Bella Monte is all about. First, the wine selection is good. Plenty of Italian wines from with the Italian Government stamp. Your wallet may not like it but sure is good wine. The dining area in the restaurant is open. As in open with plenty room not hear a conversation from the other table. Nice ambiance and only a handful of tables, so make a reservation. To start while waiting for the main course. Warm pita bread with goat cheese, olive pate, baked garlic, and diced tomatoes with olive oil. Paired with balsamic vinegar, more olive oil, and grated parmesan cheese. When the main meal was served, the prime rib was just right. Marbled and Cooked to your liking then served with a healthy portion of sides - seasoned fries and broccolini. The filet mignon was thick but tender and juicy. Nicely paired with baked red potatoes. Since this was an Italian resto, I had to order some pasta. Shrimp Diavolo was an excellent choice. Nicely prepared butterfly shrimp with thick tomato sauce and split cherry tomatoes that blended well. What a flavor. One drawback, need to let Chef know how you want the pasta served! Al dente would have hit the mark! A few swags of pinot noir cleaned the palate for desert. Creme brûlée cheese cake was it. Not too sweet nor too creamy. Lite and easy!!! And so I and my party were stuffed to the gills. Our sever was top notch!!!! Will definitely visit here again.

The best martini with blue cheese olives I've had in VA Beach. Service is outstanding and the menu is nicely balanced.
