Captain K fell off. If you dine in, the food is made better. Ordering and taking out is terrible. The fries are soggy, flimsy, and looks like they are a few days old. The fish is too salty, the shrimp’s batter is coming off and not crunchy. The coleslaw has no taste and looks dry and dingy. Let’s not talk about the hard hush puppies. The best tasting thing on the menu are ketchup and hot sauce passages. Will not be back!!!!!

Short review Terrible fries. Questionable atmosphere including a an open metal trash can that looks like it's from a New York alley plus no bathrooms. Out of Fried Chicken which is a substantial part of their menu Very nice wait staff, the fish was very well done. See below for more details My daughter, grandson, and I decided to stop in. When you open the door to Captain K's you're greeted with a straight line counter on your left that's mainly full of microwaves, giant jars of banana peppers, croutons, and other things that they're actively cooking with. On the right you've got a set of six bench tables. There's lots of paintings on the walls and a bright ocean color scheme. The air is full of oil as there's no separation between the fryers and the seating area. They also have multiple chalkboards on the walls where they've written a la carte items, combo items, and other things that they don't have on their actual menu. So if you're going to order make sure to look beyond the menu to at least three chalkboards scattered through the restaurant. There were no kids meals. My daughter and I decided on Fried Chicken but at 1:00 on a Sunday they were out. no plans on making more. This was disappointing because it was the only non fish item other than shrimp. The side items offered were four types of potatoes, mac and cheese, coleslaw and potato salad. My daughter decided to order two pieces of Whiting as fish and chips. I ended up being uninspired by the menu and decided not to get anything. There are no bathrooms. Wait staff were very friendly. They connected with us and seemed to be nice people. Some pretty good singing along with the radio Food took about 15 mins to cook, not too long to wait. The fries were terrible. Although hot, they were soft and under cooked - that mealy feeling of potato that wasnt internally cooked enough to have some fluff. It didn't help that the fries made my grandson cry. He looked so tricked when we told him it was a fry and handed it to him. he held it in his hand, cried, and threw it. That sort of encapsulates our overall feeling of the fries The whiting was very good. Nice thick sandwich. The lettuce was fresh, crisp, and a generous portion. Easily the best part of going here which is important since it was the main entree.

Went there after not having it for soooo long only to find them inside but sign says closed. Even though I checked Google maps and it said they closed at 8pm.Went back today and found out what happen the previous night and finally got my food so happy ?.

So disappointed. Didn't realize that Captain K was under new ownership but figured something was up when I saw the menu was different. We ordered our usual fish and shrimp combo and it was terrible! We took a few bites and threw the rest away. It was so greasy, the fries were soggy, and the hushpuppies had some weird breading inside of them. We used to love coming here for lunch but after this experience, it won't happen again.

This joint has been a staple of my household for many years. It had been awhile so we went yesterday. Much to our dismay we found it was under new ownership but ordered anyways. The food was terrible. It was so greasy the fries were soggy and all the breading on the shrimp and fish just dripped off. Worst of all the scallops which used to be really big and delicious were now the size or marbles. This place sucks and we will never go back.

Wow.!!! Food amazing. Service amazing. Ambiance? Surfer music. I felt like I was in Hawaii and I've never been! Unforgettable food. The best damn food I've ever eaten as far as seafood. I would come back every day if I could afford it!!! Affordable food but I'm saying. I have been to a lot of restaurants but this one is the greatest!

It's been a few years since we last visited Captain K, now under new ownership.I got home, open the boxes and food was burnt and greasy.I was too tired from a long day at work that I didn't bother to go back or call.Wish I could get my $65 back.Also I should have read the reviews before going there.
Captain K has great lunch specials, perfect portions, and fresh food. The menu has a wide selection to satisfy your entire family. Homemade tarter and cocktail sauce is always a go to.

I haven’t been to Captain K’s in a while, since I’ve been watching my caloric intake. This was a cheat day, so I decided to get the whiting meal. Big mistake! The restaurant is under new ownership and it’s no longer our great little seafood restaurant that we’ve known and loved. The whiting tasted like watered down frozen fish with no seasoning. The fries were a soggy, greasy, mess. The prices are higher and the meal was terrible. The staff were friendly and attentive. I wish I’d just gone to McDonald’s instead. If you plan on going here, just prepare yourself for a new experience. If you like the food the way it used to be, I don’t recommend this business.

I thought when I told my daughter that we would get Captain K for lunch. That I would be getting fish with oysters and fries. Oh how I was disappointed, I should've know something was wrong when we walked in and I didn't see that beautiful plant. That they had with the long branches growing across the wall. Just thought they had remodeled the place. I didn't see the old lady and the young boy that was usually in there cooking the food. The total menu has changed. The fish was alright but I should've left. Just posting this for people that think it's the same place. Because it's not. I just miss the way the other people that had the other menu.
