Happy Hour was decent however the only downside was that it was just one hour 4 to 5 PM. The well drinks were good and the shrimp soft tacos were great. Hemingway’s is in the Holiday Inn on the beach next to the boardwalk.

We were told by the hostess when we arrived that it would be a 20-30 minute wait for a table, but we could wait in the bar and order something to drink but no food. So we put our name on the dinner list, sat at a table in the bar area, got our drinks from our waitress, and watched as other people in that same area got food. Almost an hour later, we were asked if we wanted to order food while we were sitting at that same table in the bar area, so we were perplexed as to why we were all of a sudden allowed to do so, but we did because we were so hungry at that point. We will not be returning to a place with such terrible communication and poor customer service.

Hemingway's is a great place for a quiet meal. it is located inside the Holiday Inn on Atlantic Avenue at 21st street. Admittedly I was a little skeptical at first becuase it is in a hotel. If that is a concern for you, don't let it be. The food was some of the best that we have had anywhere and to top it all off the view of the ocean was amazing. My wife and I were really glad we chose Hemingway's and will be back again. The wait staff was great they were very friendly and wanted to make sure that we were enjoying our time with them. When you go get the Molten Chocolate Chip Cookie. Great experience!
great menu : a great menu : great location! One of the best fish sandwiches in VaBeach! And an incredible bartender that really knows how to make a solid Rum Runner! Ernest Hemmingway himself would be proud!

MJ is the most outstanding host and bar tender we have encountered in a long while. She has an incredible knowledge of wines and the cocktails she serves are fantastic!

Frenchie took care of us for an evening of cocktails and we took dinner upstairs with us in the hotel room. Frenchie is such a natural at taking care of people it feels so organic and easy to fall into a rythym with her. She’s an asset to this team and absolutely lovely. The views and food/drinks only add to the ambiance she cultivates for her guests. Definitely worth a visit for a drink or meal.

I had high hopes when I went here. It is in a prime location and there is beach front seating available. The waitress was phenomenal. The host was amazing. I really wanted to like this place but it just didn't do it for me. There was a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, that really didn't make my dining experience pleasurable. The adults were drinking mixed drinks and beer which is perfectly fine. Unfortunately they let their kids run wild and do whatever they wanted. They were loud and extremely obnoxious. Jumping up and down in the chairs. Lying in the chairs and kicking their feet in the air. Running throughout the patio area screaming and shouting. The parents just let it happen. I asked our waitress to move us to the other end of the dining area and she was more than happy to do so. I was surprised they handed out Chex mix in a bowl as a "snack" while waiting for the food. I had no idea it would take 45 minutes to make a grilled chicken wrap. Especially since the restaurant wasn't even close to halfway full. The waitress apologized many times for the delay but I certainly didn't hold her responsible. The chicken wraps had hardly any chicken, mostly romaine. The fries were pretty good. The highlight of the evening was the scenery. I've been stuck in much worse places but the beach was the silver lining. Between the absentee parents letting their hellians run wild and the extremely long wait time, this place just didn't do it for me. I'm sure it may have been an off night for the crew but I won't be going back to find out. I want to point out that the hostess and the waitress were spectacular in every way. They have no control over the kitchen or bad parenting.
