Great place for shrimp and fish tacos. My go to! Husband loves the burritos. They have great atmosphere, surf videos always on. Great for catching up with friends, family dinners, laid back vibe. Has a bar for mixed drinks and beers. They also have a location at the oceanfront in Virginia Beach.Tip: get the chips, salsa, cheese dip and guacamole app!!

This place is a gem. The food is simple, fresh and delicious. (And a great value!) They have options for guacamole and their chips are thin, light and crisp. A delightful treat that sets Pelon’s apart. The Horchata was !!!! I went with a large group and we were never rushed. The service was on point and friendly. We closed the place down. I can’t believe more folks have not discovered this place. It is excellent. Also very clean and comfortable.

I was having a rough day on 2/4/24Came in to get some food to go..The black gentleman working the register was so nice. He must have noticed I looked sad and he offered me a brownie. When I got my food bag he put a note on it that said “you got this”When I got home and opened it there were two more notes they said “keep your head up” and “keep going”This man is an angel of God.thank you kind sir I wish I knew your name.You have given me hope and I couldn’t ever say thank you enough.

First time here,great atmosphere however my burrito was super greasy, leaking everywhere and couldnt hold it to eat. For $17 i would expect different. My girlfriend had the same thing and hers was fine. May try this place again but not anytime soon.

Best burrito in Hampton roads. Staff is always friendly. I get the surfs up burrito substitute refried beans for black beans. Do Not forget the spicy mango habanero salsa. It is not too spicy, it's just right. Pour that on top of every bite and you have perfection.

I’ve been here a few times and I really liked it at first, but the food has gotten progressively worse. We got 3 burritos and trio chips and dip. We got a burrito with carne asada and one with grilled steak, but I think there was a mistake because the meat in both was exactly the same. It seemed like the meat was scraping the dregs, I had to spit out 4 or 5 bites due to the meat being hard/inedible. Also, the meat was so over salted it was almost inedible; I couldn’t finish mine. I am happy to spend money on delicious food, but I can’t believe I spent over $70 on bottom of the barrel, over salted beef. I was really disappointed, I won’t be going back again. Positive notes, the trio with chips was delicious and our third burrito with shredded pork was good. But it did not make up for the other two burritos.

Came here twice on a duty weekend to get lunch to go the vegan food was ok definitely tasted a bit different than the location down by the oceanfront but overall staff were friendly maybe I’ll try it again in a sit down setting.Vegetarian options: Also has VEGAN options

We ordered dinner online, which we've done numerous times. As usual, the food wasn't ready for another 10 minutes past the time given on the Toast app...very irritating! I ordered the California Burrito, which I've had before and usually love. It was NOT fresh. The carne asada was cold, cheese wasn't melted inside, and about 1/2 a teaspoon each of sour cream and salsa right in the middle. I found this out after carefully opening the flaky tortilla that resembled dried paper mache.The other items we ordered were edible, but so simple it wood be impossible to mess up- cheese quesadillas, chips and dip trio, and a taco salad (which contained cold carne asada as well).Very disappointing experience, because we used to love Pelon's, and I also love the vibe of their restaurant if you eat there.
The staff was friendly. The portion sizes for the breakfast burritos were reasonably priced. I ordered the so cal burritos, it had chorizo ,cheese and potatoes. I ate half of mine and saved the rest for the next day. I saw they have lunch specials during the week. I might check those out one of these days and have a review for lunch /dinner.
