We went here because of the vegan/vegetarian options. Everything was amazing and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be back

There aren't enough words to truly express my appreciation for this place. Every single time we come, the service + the food itself is always showing out 110%. So much flavor, so much comfort. The main dishes we come for is the curry soup, the coconut fried rice and the roti (not pictured). Roti is more of an appetizer. A light and airy bread with a semi-doughy texture, but crispy outer layer, paired with their curry for dipping - phenomenal. Their curry is spicy, but not too spicy where you can't enjoy it (but really... is there such thing as too spicy??). Super flavorful, the meat is super tender, and the noodles that come with it is cooked perfectly. The coconut fried rice brought such a refreshing balance to the heaviness of the curry. The coconut flavor isn't overpowering, and the addition of veggies and egg just elevate the rice dish more, giving it that freshness. The portions are very generous, and prices are reasonable. 12/10 would recommend.

Loved the Roti & beef in sizzling platter! We didn't love the char kaoy teow but I think that was just our preference and not about their cooking at all. The portions were great and the food was fresh tasting. Very good service and reasonably priced. My husband loved that book full of photos of every dish! We will definitely return!

Went there for a work lunch today. Food was excellent. Long list of lunch specials. They also make good Thai iced tea. Roti bread appetizer was excellent.

I stopped here while driving through and ordered the red curry. It was delicious. The vegetables were very greasy and this time the kitchen included pineapple in addition to the tofu. The service was good and everything came out right on time. The restraint was doing a lot of carry out and no doubt people wanted keep getting these meals even during shut down. I wish this place was closer to me.

Holy moly! First time eating here and this place has taken Peter Changs place on my favorite places to eat list. My daughter, who is a very picky eater, ordered beef chow fun, which she loves so much she didn't want to share a bite. My husband and I shared Malaysian tea, thai tea, chow mee, yummy curry, roti bread, and salt and pepper fish. Everything was just incredible. The salt and pepper chili fish was my favorite. My husband's favorite was the curry. My daughter said her favorite dish ended up being the chow mee. I'm a stuffed turkey right now and my mouth is still watering thinking about the food!

We've traveled to Malaysia and loved the food and now here it is in Virginia Beach. A top reason to travel is to experience local food and now that we are getting too old to do much traveling and with covid too, it's lovely to be able to experience so many different cuisines right here - Virginia Beach never dissapoints. The service was great too. It's a casual place in a strip mall.

Great food! Definitely recommend the red curry - delicious flavor and the perfect amount of spice! Thai tea was delicious, as well.

Eating here is just like stepping into someone’s home for fresh, made to order, home-cooked food. This place is a gem and the flavors are wonderful!

I can't believe I haven't been to this place before! My niece wanted pad Thai for dinner, and I was on the hunt to find someplace we haven't been before. Behold Penang. Saw the great reviews and had to see for ourselves that everyone was speaking the truth. We were warmly greeted by our server and she was very pleasant in giving us some recommendations. We started off with the roti and and it was delicious!! For our entrees, my niece got her pad Thai after all, and I went with the beef in sizzling platter. Everything was perfect! Our food came out quick, hot, and yummy! I don't know if it was a slow evening that we decided to stumble here because we were the only customers there. I hope they are able to stay afloat because I will definitely be back again!

First time trying this place and we had high hopes but the prices are a bit much for the portions of what you get. Imo it wasn't worth the $80+ spent. I'll start with the good. The Thai Tea and Ipoh Coffee were both refreshing. The Roti Canai was hot, flakey and went so well with the curry dipping sauce which wasn't too spicy. We ordered four different dishes: Char Koay Teow (upper left), salted eggs crispy chicken (upper right), pineapple fried rice, and beef rendang. The Char Koay Teow was pretty good up until I found a hair in the food which disgusted me and ruined the whole dish. The salted eggs crispy chicken was not anything special since the flavor didn't stand out, nor did it taste very good. The beef rendang is over priced and not good. The meat seemed like it was overcooked and dry. Definitely will never come here again and if you are considering coming here, don't it's not worth the money.

Love this place! I've only had lunch there a few times but it's delicious. Food from Thailand, China, Malaysia and other SE Asian countries. Not your typical Asian/American place. They take they their food more seriously. Truly worthy. I plan to make it part of my regular restaurant rotation.
