Just ate there for the first time this afternoon. Food was delicious. We had pulled pork and pulled chicken with green beans, potato salad and collard greens. Some of the best in collards that I've had anywhere!Unfortunately, as we left we saw a sign that they will be closing at the end of September. Really sorry to see.?

This place is fantastic, I love coming here for lunch and my favorite thing to get is the smoked quarter chicken with the gold sauce. I usually get it with the dirty rice and potato salad. The chicken is smoked nicely, it's always juicy and gold bbq sauce is smackin good! A great Lynnhaven staple for sure. You know I'll be Back

I should’ve listen to the reviews. The food was just so so. We had ribs, mac and cheese, greens and potato salad. The greens weren’t bad but everything else was just so so. Service was good though.

Ok 6:30 and out of ribs brisket that's bad it's Tuesday night and no meets and the employees could give a crap. The food was just ok burnt ends was just pork barbecue with sauce not what we expected. I would say the corn bread was very good. Not worth it will not return.

They have your normal bbq meats but they mix up the combination of the meats and toppings to make it amazing! We didn’t expect it to be this good. Pulled chicken was good. Burnt ends good. Greens good! Max and cheese good! Cornbread good. The price is amazing too!! $20 filled me and my son up and took some home!

Hot, fresh and delicious! I am always impressed with the quality of their bbq and that amazing smoke smell in the restaurant really sets the tone for what you are about to experience. I got the Burnt End Sandwich with mac n cheese and coleslaw. Everything was delicious and fresh. I also ordered a pork sandwich to-go and destroyed that shortly after coming home and the it still tasted just as fresh as being in the store.Allnof their sauces are on pint as well!! Definitely worth a try, if you haven't.

Review of the Experience The barbecue was only okay, but I have to say it was EXTREMELY awkward while waiting to order. So much so that if I didn't show how awkward it was I would be doing the folks who review BBQ places they go a disservice. The gentleman who took our order behind the cashier didn't even acknowledge that we were standing there trying to order. My 5 month pregnant wife and I just stood there very very awkwardly as we waited for him to let us order (we are a interracial couple, I'm black and my wife is white, I pray it had nothing to do with that). Literally standing there for about 6 mins just looking at the cashier in the back doing nothing. He never greeted us or told us it would be a wait, nothing. It was so bad we thought we did something wrong by even coming the store. He wasn't even busy he just was literally looking at us from afar. While this was going on the customers who were in the dining room who were eating were staring at us too. Then finally we ordered, and thank God I did my research on the menu before hand because he was not helpful at all explaining the menu. Review of the Food It was dinner time around 6PM and of course they were out of tons of stuff we actually wanted like the mac and cheese and brisket. The ribs were St. Louis style and we had the option of either wet or dry. We went wet. First thing I noticed was a slightly weird after taste in the meat, it must have been a different wood used to smoke the meat because coming from Texas I couldn't identify that smoke flavor. It was not mesquite or hickory, and not to be negative it wasn't a good smoke flavor in my opinion just off. (Smokey Bones ribs was a million times better, my wife would also agree). The sausage was literally cold and had fennel in it (or something that tasted like it) and immediately made me think of Italian sausage, and this is supposed to be a barbecue place. Completely wrong flavor. The pulled pork was the stand out of the 3 meats we ordered, there even gave us buns to make pulled pork sandwich's. The pulled pork was juicy, hot and even had the cayenne vinegar sauce we love as my wife is from North Carolina. The collard greens weren't hitting at all, the bake beans were pretty good. All in all, after seeing this restaurant on TV we were expecting way more quality in the food and in the dining experience. We were absolutely disappointed by the awkwardness and food, and will not be returning because there are better options in this area. I wish we had a great experience but we didn't.

We were so disappointed! Ordered two rib dinners to go. Lesson learned, I should of looked at the ribs before we left! Ribs were old, cold and crispy. Could not eat them all because they were too hard. However, the sides were great. Had potato salad, cold slaw and collard greens with cornbread which was yummy. So, if you go make sure your ribs are fresh!!!

The Mad Dog hot dog is AMAZING!!! It comes with burnt ends and Texas Pete hot sauce on it. I added the Sweet Q bbq sauce and I had to get another!!

Friendly service, 5 stars.Food, 1 star.I ordered the BBQ sandwich plate for lunch to take back to the office. The BBQ was dry with hardly any sauce and had a weird smell (probably the way it was cooked, I hope) and although they give you a good amount, the bun they put it on is too flimsy and fell apart. The dirty rice was hard and had a gravy that was too salty and gelatinous. The coleslaw, because it was in the same container as the hot food, was warm. Not a good experience and I won't eat there again.

We had such a wonderful experience here! Visiting from out of town and came bc we love bbq and saw it had been on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. I asked the man behind the register which side he preferred: collards or green beans. His favorite was collards, so that's what I picked. He also said the macaroni and cheese was a popular item and said their corn bread was great as well. Our group ordered the Whits combo, the duo with brisket and pulled pork, and two pulled pork little plates. Our sides were macaroni and cheese, collards, baked beans, potato salad and cole slaw. We also ordered a corn bread. The meats were delicious! The collards were like we make at home. Actually, so we're the macaroni and cheese (southern custard/baked style) and the potato salad. The corn bread was absolutely amazing! We do wish the cole slaw had a bit more salt, but it was crisp and fresh. The sauces were tasty and we were delighted to see a yellow mustard sauce, as we're from SC. Highly recommend and will stop by again when in town.

Heard so much hype about whiteners from my wife coworkers that we were stoked to try it! The BBQ experience was very underwhelming. The brisket was average the burnt end weren’t spectacular Ilan and the Mac and cheese was soggy and disgusting. My wife loved the dry ribs but I found them just okay. Worst part is the next morning both my wife’s and my stomachs are hurting and the need to throw up is evident!

My sister is picky about bbq and she finished her plate! They had a daily special that fit our appetite and budget. Friendly staff that answered our questions about food. You are able to see food prepared for you. I had turkey that was delicious with dirty rice and collard greens. The greens had flavor, but most likely started from a can versus fresh cut. The macaroni cheese was good, but not the best. I would choose another side. Ask about pickles! They are delicious! The food was flavorful, delicious and didn't take long to prepare.
