What a wonderful dinner we just had at YamaChen's. it was a lovely experience from beginning to end. Relaxing atmosphere, amazing staff, and of course, the sushi was divine. Thank you so much, for a wonderful, interesting, and tasty meal!

Went the day before Valentine’s Day and it was perfect! The food was delicious and the serving portions were great, our waitress was so nice too! Fast service as well, definitely recommend.

Its such a cute small place with literally the best sushi and shrimp i will ever have! They’re all so sweet and always give us free dessert amd sometimes a lil more! My family and I love this place and I just wish I could eat there daily!!

Very disappointing. The sushi rolls were bland and all tasted the same. They seemed to be short on servers. Ours was polite but slow.

Very poor, wafer thin slices of sashimi that looked and tasted neither fresh nor vibrant! Even the wasabi was stale and hard to mix with the soy sauce. Expensive disappointment. Entrees don’t come with a soup or salad which is unusual for the area to not at least get one of the two!

Cozy and welcoming place to have sushi. Wonderful customer service. Highly recommend the fried wontons appetizer. Also enjoyed the sake flight.

This is my second and last visit here. My first visit I was hardly greeted and it seemed like the waitress was going above and beyond for the customers that didn't look like me. I thought maybe I was jumping to conclusions so I visited again today. Well it was the same thing. A family walked in seconds behind me that didn't look like me and the same waitress from last time hardly spoke to me but she greeted them with a warm welcome and smile. Once my food came out she immediately went and got the check and sat it down. I started continued eating and she came back and said you need to pay now. I looked up and said now? I'm eating and you just put my food down. She said again that I needed to pay now. I asked while pointing to the other table and said did you give them their check too and she said yes but she didn't and after I got up I looked. They definitely didn't have their check. I got the hint loud and clear and I asked for a box paid and left. I won't be back and I didn't leave a tip which I always do whenever I go out. The food was good but the service was horrible and down right disrespectful!

Probably the worst Japanese food I’ve ever had for taste, quality, presentation and price. The avocado “salad” was literally sliced up avocado and fake crab meat in separate piles atop a banana leaf and sprinkled with rice vinegar. The banana leaf is their signature dish presentation accessory and is used to hide the empty space on the plate. My husband ordered the sashimi lunch special which consisted of 8 skinny slices of fish lain on top of a banana leaf and a few torn pieces of lettuce. My son’s chicken teriyaki was served as a stir fry with edamame, corn and cherry tomatoes (what?!). The teriyaki sauce was not thick and yummy but vinegary and soupy. And finally, the sushi, the most disappointing part of the meal, although I wasn’t entirely surprised by the time it was served. I’ve never had sushi where the sushi rice was just plain rice—zero rice vinegar treatment. The eel sauce, like the teriyaki sauce, was soupy. Overall the experience was a huge disappointment and I’m confused as to how it has received so many glowing reviews. I will say that the wait staff was very welcoming and nice, and they offered us free appetizers (edamame and spring rolls). The spring rolls were definitely from a Costco value pack.

New restaurant, great food. Will definitely be back. Nice owners too!Glad we got a great place to grab sushi near the mall now, cause really the other places aren't nearly as good as this.

The food was okay. I feel like it could have been better prepared. The service was pretty good. Worth a tip I would say. The restaurant itself is nice, but it could do a bit better about managing the loudness of the music and the style of music.
