After living in southern Louisiana for several years, and just getting back from visiting New Orleans, our meal from the gumbo hut made me feel like I never left Louisiana! Had the Red Beans, Yaya Gumbo, Creole Beef with Broccoli, and more! I have lived in Southeast LA for over 30 years and the Gumbo Yaya is legit! It is, by far, the best gumbo I've had outside south LA & southeast TX & it is very competitive with gumbos from LA. They got the roux right! I am astounded to get gumbo (and other south LA foods) of this quality in the Shenandoah Valley. Now if they could only get Gulf shrimp and oysters ;-) .... I will visit the Gumbo Hut again.

Ordered via Door Dash and the dasher stole my okra. So I sent my husband there to get some more (I really wanted some and good fried okra is hard to come by). She made a fresh batch for me and gave us two drinks - no charge, though I’d have paid again for it.
