The Cafe Provencal was open Valentines Day Weekend for a special meal. We were delighted to dine here. We look forward when the restaurant opens full-time. In the meantime, we are truly enjoying the Joshua Archer Tavern. Every meal at either of these restaurants are the best.

This was our 2nd time here and as before the staff were amazing and the food with wine pairing was outstanding!

Service was great. Nice and quiet. Food was lacking selection on the room package. Was very disappointed in not being able to order off the regular menu. The dishes we had were so so. The Room was nice and quiet.

This truly pains me to write this... however, I left dinner quite disappointed. We did the three course tasting menu, which included a bottle of wine that we could select from a specific list. We chose the Cab Franc and the bottle of wine was nice. Medium bodied, subtle red fruit notes and was soft on the finish. The first course selections were the goat cheese galette and the salad. To my surprise, the galette was so well balanced; the entire dish was on point. It all went together and I found myself scraping the plate clean with my fork. However, the salad had yellowing, spotted and old greens that were still put on the plate and the flavors were just meh! For the entree course, I selected the braised short ribs. I really love braised short ribs, but this dish missed the mark on every level. The dish came with sweet potato grits, mustard greens, sauce reduction, 3 mini onion rings, and lastly some kind mustard caviar/ whole grain mustard. This dish was such a hodgepodge of blah meh average ingredients that did not belong together. The dish was overall too bitter, heavy and salty. Lastly, ordered the strawberry goat-cheesecake and chocolate sphere. The cheesecake was a deconstructed version and it was quite delicious. However, the ridiculous bergamot yellow circles of sauce around the plate, tasted like gelatinous sticky sweet soap. The chocolate sphere was good, again the same critique throughout the entire meal, there were several elements that did not need to be on the dessert. It seems that the chef is desperately trying to be super unique, putting crazy flavors together and reinventing the wheel... instead its missing the mark on so many levels. Wishing that they would just focus on making each element of the dish spectacular and keep it simple.

We had a surprise birthday party for my wife at Cafe Provencal. Risa, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure that our evening was extra special and that every detail was attended. The food and service were outstanding. It was truly an experience that we will never forget.

The food tasted wonderful and the presentation was a true work of art. The staff were all frendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They made the experience one we look forward to having again.

Such an amazing place. The food was delicious. My husband loved the wines he selected and the food was outstanding. Great ambiance, food presentation and service.

I really enjoyed the sorbet dessert. But my main course of braised ribs were not as good as I hoped. The most flavorful part of the dish was the kale.

It's almost impossible to find the restaurant on the property or even in the Inn. They were very kind when our table wasn't ready and offered us a glass of wine. Every staff member was personable and nice. The ambience is dated and tired. The food was beautiful to look at but fell short of the overly expensive price tag.

We went for Valentines prix fixed dinner. Our dinner reservation was at 6:30 by 8:00 we were not even close to being served our entree. The pork belly in our soup was so fatty my husband could not properly chew it or swallow it. His scallop appetizer was undercooked. We were excited about the entree's we picked, petite fillet stuffed with lobster. Well when they finally arrived almost 2 hours after being seated the lobster was so undercooked it could not be eaten and the middle of the fillet was raw, it was the same with my husbands. It was so disappointing! I had not been there for some time so I don't know what has changed but would not go back any time soon at this point. We generally dine at Cochon or Fat Canary for special occasions so will definitely go back to those.

Wonderful cooking and generous portions for such high quality food. Ambiance is tops. Service was exceptional. A great dining experience here on several occasions which has made this a dependable and predictable special evening every time. The restaurant is amongst the best you can find anywhere.

Server very nice but slow and clueless regarding menu. Salad boring, oversold, overpriced would not order again. Short rib meal very tasty but fatty. Scallops were tasty, charcuterie selection very good.
