Had a wonderful time just relaxing with a friend, it's been years since I was last here. It hasn't changed much. Just a great place to hang out with friends, eat, drink and be merry! The wings are NOT breaded, even though the menu says they are, though they were tasty.

We visited Green Pauls Deli on 12/26/2023 for lunch. It was a disappointing experience. We grabbed a menu, found a table, decided what we wanted and then went to the cash register to order and pay. We ordered three items that arrived at different times after waiting a considerable amount of time. Food quality was basic and the service level was poor for a restaurant. They need to revamp the venue and hire more staff.

Since the renovation a few years ago, The Leafe is improved. The food is good, service good, any kind of drink you could want. The only downer is the men’s room. How could it still be this way? Listen to the sound on my video and you can hear the soles of my boots lifting from the sticky floor.

It ain't what it used to be. I miss the Green Leafe of yore. With the international beer selections and the former, larger space they used to have. The food is fine for the burg. Which means more hot sandwiches. Nothing special or different about it anymore. NOTE: the entrance is very difficult to get into for folks w mobility issues. Steep steps and a tiny area to get into the door.Vegetarian options: Limited and not particularly tasty. I don't dig veggie subs that are just tomatoes and peppers and onions. And their eggplant parm tastes exactly like the eggplant parm I've had at every other restaurant in the burg.Wheelchair accessibility: It is NOT wheelchair accessible from the front. At all.

I haven't been inside the Green Leafe Cafe for a long time. I used to go frequently years ago. I've tried a couple of times recipes, last time was Monday 9/18/23. Unfortunately the opening times posted online are incorrect and I couldn't find business hours posted anywhere visible at the building. A gentleman smoking a cigarette on a back door stoop there told us they open at 4:00pm. Anyway, it used to be a nice place.

Friendly and quick bar service, good comfort food in giant portions. If you enjoy a good bourbon they have a nice rocks glass with the giant ice cube. They also have the friendliest security team, all Marine vets, makes you feel extremely safe. The crowd was friendly, on the younger side but welcoming. A great late night spot they stay open late!

Oh how the mighty have fallen...What was once probably one of the coolest long-running bars in the commonwealth has become somewhere I would recommend to actively avoid if in Williamsburg.For context, I was a Green Leafe regular for years, beginning when I popped in for a beer at midnight on my 21st birthday after watching a movie with some friends. I would pop in a few times a week with some of those friends for the rest of my time living in Williamsburg. However, with the ownership change and renovations, this bar has been steadily declining in quality since re-opening, culminating in my experience the other night.I was attending a friends wedding in Williamsburg, and was a groomsman. After the reception had finished many attendees migrated to the Leafe to continue socializing. As party of the wedding party I had arrived at the venue early in the day and had a bag with me carrying my phone charger, a hanger for my suit jacket, and a spare shirt. I was told by security at the Leafe I could not enter with this bag as it was "too big," and security didn't even bother to search it which I would have been happy to comply with. (Also, why do bar bouncers need to be dressed in pseudo-police gear? Big ref flag whenever I encounter that) None of their social media nor their website make any mention of this policy. Luckily my car was near enough to drop it off, though that seemed a completely unnecessary trip to me. After entering my experience was not better. For both beers I ordered I was charged different amounts than what was listed on their beer list on the TV screens behind the bar, which is particularly inexcusable if you have an electronic menu you can change at any point rather than a paper menu it takes time to print new copies of.More broadly than these specific experiences, the vibe of the Green Leafe is that of the most generic, gentrified, former dive bars I've seen in many cities. If you want good, well-executed pub food with killer beer lists go to Amber Ox or Dog Street Pub, they both fulfill what Green Leafe is going for far better than the Leafe could in its current incarnation.All in all, I cannot recommend the Green Leafe to anyone anymore, despite having regularly gone there multiple times a week in the past.
