I was there at about 7:30pm on Saturday night. The restaurant was insanely understaffed. We waited for everything food, water, and especially the bill 25mins OMG. My whole fried fish was under seasoned and my rice was cold. Happy hour margarita was way too sweet and my husband quesadilla was soggy because beans were in it. I will not be returning.

Reviews hyped this up more than reasonable. All the food was edible, but nothing was very flavorful or delicious. The margarita was tasty sugar-wise, but little to no tequila. The smothered burrito was bland. The queso dip tasted like melted white velveeta without any spices or ingredients. My dad got some kind of combo plate with chicken, shrimp, and steak. The shrimp was very good, but he got maybe 2 oz of the steak and shrimp. Overall, we were unimpressed.

Great little place and I would say very unappreciated. They have a large menu with many traditional items as well as familiar stand-bys. The food was great - flavorful and presented well. The service was excellent and, on a very busy night in town, they had seating to spare. Would recommend you give it a try, wholeheartedly, especially when more "popular" places are crowded or have wait-lists for seating.Parking: There were about 20 parking spaces from what I could see, surrounding the restaurant in a lot off the road.Kid-friendliness: This is more about atmosphere although I can't confirm kids' menu items, since my daughter eats adult food now.

Let me start by saying we have been to this establishment several times. We frequent this place while on holiday at least 3 times a year. We usually have a pleasant time and the food is pretty good. I am writing this review because my family of five, 3 children and 2 adults were charged gratuity and lied to by the waitress Alejandra. We are an African American family. She told us they have a new policy to charge 5 or more gratuity. One of the other waitresses overheard this and directed us to talk to the manager Melissa. Upon speaking to her she immediately removed the gratuity as apologized. We were the only African American family in the restaurant. We usually tip at least %20 so for this particular waitress to treat us as if we were not going to tip is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is that she saw our skin and decided we were not going to tip. Shame on you and la Tolteca for going dishonest workers. I will not be back here nor will I refer anyone to visit this place. I am done with the Williamsburg location. How do I explain to my children what they just witnessed.
