Excellent food, excellent service, and the atmosphere is family. The only complaint is the chaos getting in and out of the lobby. We were overlooked because people who entered after us ate and left before us. But when we were seated it was all good. We forgot about the small chaos at the check in.

We were visiting Williamsburg & after looking online decided on Sal's. I was looking for good Italian & the reviews sounded promising. Wrong! I don't like to be mean in my reviews but we were so disappointed. Our waitress did the least she could do to serve us. Watching several other waitresses we knew our service would be subpar. First she never explained specials (which after hearing them told to the booth behind us, I would have ordered one). Salads came, there was a bottle on the table which looked liked oil & vinegar or just table decoration. The booth in front of us had the server bring the bread & shake & pour the mixture. We ordered the Victor's Sampler to split, another salad & 1/2 Karafe of wine. Our entree came completely smothered with mozzarella & you could not differentiate between the different dishes; Lasagna, Ravioli, Veal Parm, manicotti. It looked like one big mess. The Veal was rock hard & looked like leftover & overcooked. Soooo disappointed. I hate to leave bad reviews bc of the employees on the most part work very hard.

Delicious Food with Close Seating. I selected the Chicken in Lemon & Butter served over Linguine ($20.99) which was absolutely delightful! She had Victor's Sampler, $20.99, a combination of Lasagna, Manicotti, Ravioli & Veal Parmigiana in a Homemade Tomato Sauce, which was delicious, very generous portions and certainly enough for two. The ½ carafe of Merlot ($11.99) helped everything go down. We were stuffed so we took a piece of Cheesecake ($6.99) home with us. You can be very close to other patrons. Our waiter was effective but showed no personality.

Before retiring and moving to Williamsburg I came here for dinner. I was extremely impressed. This has become my go to restaurant when friends and family visit.The food is equal to a restaurant in New Jersey or New York.
This is a 5 star restaurant period the staff is always friendly particularly like the The way you are greeted when you come in by the Concierra the front desk... He shared he had been there 31 years how lucky he is to be around that great food .. wonderful people all that time...drove 2 hours out of our way to eat here again and for spomoni ice cream the best..the sauce so so great none better this side of Italy...will return parking great prices fair large portions clean ....happy staff great experience..ty

Such a great place. The food is some of the best southern Italian food I've found. The tomato sauce is homemade. A lot of the pastas are too. The garlic knots are delicious. I love the eggplant ravioli. The servers are always so nice too.I will say that I don't like their pizza (crust is not good) and the bread and salad they serve before the meal are both so bad (dry, dry bread and iceberg lettuce) I always turn them down.But this is still one of my favorite places. I keep coming back.
