We arrived at a very busy time but seated immediately. The bartender, Shannon, took care of us and was so friendly. The shrimp and Grits were AMAZING and the sweet tea was the best we had our entire trip. Can't wait to visit again!

Was truly impressed with the ambiance of the restaurant-the furniture had a nice southern feel and the music was wonderful -not quite jazz but almost? We shared a few dishes- biscuits with butter and jam -large and flaky, a southern crab chowder that was nice with a decent amount of crab, and shrimp and grits. They even split our meal into two plates (so you realize these plates are one portion split.) the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the whole dish seasoned well. I had a blood orange margarita which was enjoyed and my daughter had a Warm Flannel with bourbon and apple cider mix.

The reason for the low star on food is because of the size of the airline pigeon they served us. AIRLINE pigeon, Mac and cheese, water and 2 drinks 105.00 dollars. Truly this is an all profit meal and customer satisfaction is last. I could eat at Ruth Chris's for just a little more. Nice people but never again. I even asked before the meal if the chicken was a sizable portion I could not believe my eyes when you get (seriously no joke) a Domino's size leg attached he'd to a little piece of breast meat , the Mac and cheese was ok but sizably different than the pigeon

Our 7 PM reservation was 1 hour late. We were starving by the time we ate. Some menu specials were no longer available. The food we had was delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would recommend.

Sweet Tea & Barley is a jewel at the Lodge, and especially in Williamsburg! The food was delicious, and the service was attentive. We went during the busiest time to go the first night, and there was still barely any wait time for our food! The food itself was so good that we went back a second time. The burgers are delicious, as well as the homemade biscuits, Brussel sprouts, and crab chowder. Overall, an amazing experience that I definitely recommend!

We thoroughly enjoyed eatg brunch at Sweet Tea and barley. My mushroom omelet was delicious and everyone agreed that the seasoned potatoes that came with the breakfast items were the best we have eaten.

Sweet Tea & Barley was a cute restaurant with a very good ambiance. I booked brunch for my Daughter's Sweet 16. We were in Williamsburg for the weekend and wanted to go somewhere special. The waitress Aretha was very nice and did a good job. We ordered the chicken club which are not chicken clubs just chicken sandwiches. The chicken on the sandwiches were inedible and gross. The menu said it was a chicken breast but two of our guests said they couldn't eat it and were grossed out. The rest of the dishes were just okay at best. The desserts were good. When I told her it was a birthday, they didn't bring out the desert with a candle which was strange. Skip this place if you can.

I was really excited to try this space and was let down by a few factors. The service was very slow even though it was not busy at all. Once our sever did arrive he was very attentive and met all of our needs. The food was great but did not exceed expectations. It was basic but good.

We tried Sweet Tea & Barley because we saw an advertisement for a jazz trio playing Friday and Saturday evening. The ambiance in the bar area is better than the garden room, but we had reservations in the garden room (either bar area was full or no reservations are taken for that space). We took advantage of the restaurant week menu. The food was very good, in general, though the bisque and the scallop dinner were somewhat spicy. The service was very good. We could still hear the music fairly well from our table. Overall a good experience, and we will likely try to catch the jazz next time in the bar room, as this looks like a recurring event there.

We went for lunch at 1 pm . They had no sweet tea and were unable to make a batch . The place was empty and it took 45 min to place our orders and get our beverages. Service was disappointing. Our server had clearly not been properly trained to be a server.

First time visiting for New Year's Eve! Menu was limited but food was good! The waiter was great, she paid attention to us and made sure we had what we needed. Very loud due to small band playing close by, it made it hard to have a conversation!
