I was visiting family in the area and happened to stumble across this bar and I am beyond pleased! My partner and I split the burger and the french onion soup and it was AMAZING! We ate at the bar and our bartender Molly was incredible. Very attentive, friendly, a blast to talk to and made sure all of our needs were met. Overall a great atmosphere, service, staff and food! Will be encouraging my local family to visit. Thank you again Molly for the excellent service and the delicious cocktails!!!

Service at this restaurant was extremely bad. They seem understaffed for the amount of patrons. Wait times to be seated, brought menus, drinks, food, etc. ALL took an excessive amount of time compared to any other local restaurant. Won't return unless business were to hire more workers for the amount of customers.

The website menu is more extensive that the actual offered at the restaurant. That NEEDS to be addressed. We only had three entree choices of a chicken, salmon or a steak. We had the salmon - was delicious and cooked perfectly. I ordered escargo as an appetizer and my wife said she thought they tasted canned. They probably were as it is hard to get fresh, but canned should be thoroughly washed to remove the canned tint. Service was superb. All together, it was a very pleasant dinner.

The place was almost empty when we ate here on a Sunday night. The server was friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered from the limited choices for by the glass and were very pleased. I asked if the salmon could be served with a vegetable instead of ravioli and was offered Brussels sprouts which I accepted. The Bibb lettuce salad was delicious with a nice touch of snips of chives on top. Good dressing! My salmon was perfectly cooked, but the sprouts were deep fried and were not much more than very dark brown grease. The server offered to get me pan sautéed sprouts which were delicious though over salted. My husband's hanger steak was a bit undercooked for medium rare but tasty but for oversalting. His frites were also over salted. The desserts were very good.

Loved the homey vibe and liked relating to a bit of history. Had brunch, eggs Benedict very good, coffee afterwards very good. Will be going back in April when we see a show at Shenandoah conservatory.

Absolutely one of the best places downtown! Very cozy atmosphere! Friendly staff and delicious food! I love their burger with truffle fries and they make the best espresso martini! ?

I’ve been here a few times both with friends and while flying solo, and have never been disappointed. Great cocktails, food, and fantastic vibe. Would highly recommend if you’re visiting Winchester or looking to make the night out more memorable.

This is a very cute place on the old town mall. We were shocked by how limited the menu was considering the online menu was more extensive. If you don't eat steak, there were two entrées to choose from aside from two overpriced burgers. My husband's salmon wasn't just rare it was underdone. My Coc au vin was wonderful. Service was amazing and attentive. Crème brûlée was underdone, but the Irish coffee was wonderful. The price tag was not bad, but it was certainly not cheap. I don't think we'll be going back.

This place has changed so much since originally posting the below review a year ago. Today, far to expensive for what it is, would not suggest fantastic food as previously posted - maybe they have updated the updated management and we should go again however French Restaurant around the corner is far better. The food is fantastic and the staff always takes great care of us. You will love American Bar's Escargot (try it, this appetizer is really good), espeically when paired with a glass of their Sauvignon Blanc.
