Visiting overnight, relied on Yelp to pick our dining spot and boy, am I glad. Everything was delicious, from the duck pate. App to the entrees pictured. Service was terrific, as was the choc mousse! Wonderful experience from start to finish.

Absolutely a dining experience find in Brattleboro, VT. Dined here for my wife's birthday. I went for the appetizers for my main courses of meal. Started with Escargots which were good. A bit heavy for an appetizer due to the puff pastry outside. Then I went for the Tuna tartare which was super fresh and flavorful. My wife had the garden salad which was really fresh. Then she had the duck breast sliced and served with truffle mashed potatoes green beans and carrots. Said it was very good. I had the mussels as my entry which was more than enough. Desert were average. The servers were attentive and pleas We will return for another dining experience.

Excellent! So far my favorite restaurant in Brattleboro. Beyond the good food the service was impeccable, good environment, nice public, calm, sophisticated, good for a date or dinner w the fam. Ps.: make a reservation!

Terrible experience - eating in what feels like a cave, slow service and being served the same mozzerello and tomato salad available at the co-op.

We started at the oyster shucking bar and had the pleasure of interacting with Maddie, and we enjoyed a delicious craft cocktail. Then we moved to the dining area for our reservation. We ordered gnocchi and mushroom fettuccine, both incredible. The table bread with olive oil soaked sun dried tomato was superb. We also ordered truffle mashed potatoes and a chocolate mousse to-go! The bartender was very knowledgeable and eloquently recited the many detailed specials with ease. Very friendly, cozy, and innovative environment. Loved, loved, loved this place. In a word PERFECTION. It was a cold winter night and I pulled up to a charming building with a side entrance for the restaurant and a main entrance for the oyster bar that I will come back for. Upon entry I was greeted and sat at the reservations at the bar. A wonderfully attentive bartender that seemed like she ran everything started me off with the specials. I changed my mind from the duck pate and duck breast to the escargot and scallops...more on that later - but I am glad with my choices. A great selection of wine by the glass the malbec was delish. Had two glasses that a had a generous pour. The bartender knew the menu and described the specials with much detail. I just had to go with the scallops and I am glad I did. Seared to perfection and married with carrots and green beans that were delish - cooked to an al-dente perfection. These were served over risotto that was firm and of perfect constancy. I just wish the meal could keep on going. The appetizer was escargot on a pastry puff and everything tasted just perfect. When traveling alone I love to sit at the bar and this one did not disappoint. A mix of eclectic clientele, everyone chatted the appropriate amount and shared recommendations of the menu, other dining establishments, and the city. From ambiance, to staff, to drinks, to the crowd, to the food, everything was perfect. Thank you all for a wonderful meal that exceeded my expectations. I will be back when I come back to the Brattleboro Area.

Food and service were both fabulous. The bartender was a magician, mixing the best amaretto sour I've ever had. Peter Havens is a place you'll want to keep going back to.
