This place was quite small but had a cute atmosphere. I was really expecting this to be a gem, but was very disappointed. I ordered the filet mignon and got a tiny very thin steak. It came with “garlic” mashed potatoes and vegetable that the server described as roasted in oil. The vegetables were steamed and had no additional flavor or spices. The potatoes seemed to be made with no cream or butter just a tiny bit or garlic and the rest potato. The cut of the steak was what I would expect them to give the employees at the end of the night, NOT the cut of meat you serve to customer. A family member also ordered the filet mignon and got two separate pieces of extremely small and thin meat. I don’t know if they were running low and just gave us what they had but it was not acceptable for the price point. When I spend $42 on a steak I expect a good cut, well cooked, and with good flavor. The add ons for the steaks were $7 which one of my family members got and it did not taste like balsamic reduction it just tasted like balsamic poured over a steak. The atmosphere was cute and quaint at first but quickly got to be crowded. We could overhear the conversations of two tables right next to us both complaining about their meals and the quality of their food. This was an incredibly mediocre meal that was far too expensive and not what was advertised.

It was not great. We were given the wrong types of steaks, the wrong temperature and the wrong sauces. Every entree has the exact same side and you can't choose anything. Garlic potatoes and a side of carrots and broccoli. The potatoes were good, but the carrots and broccoli were hard and had absolutely no seasoning. The steaks were honestly subpar. I've literally had better dreams at outback and they didn't cost nearly as much as what this place didThe wine by the glass selection was frankly terrible. They have an extremely limited selection of wine, and even the liquor selection was not great. The staff was also not great. There was maybe 6 other people in the entire restaurant at the time we were there. One waiter, came and gave us menus and water and said he'd be right back to get our drink order. He then went on break and sat at the bar, while we waited for another 30 minutes till someone asked us what we wanted to drink. It then took about another 15 minutes to get our glass of wine returned.Overall the sheer price was not worth it in any way shape or form. If I come back to Burlington, I will be avoiding here for sure

This was a pleasant surprise for me. I had never been there and only did because it was recommended via Open Table. I was taking my grandson because he had his final home game of his Junior Hockey season the next day and I knew a steak would be good. Well, the food was superb (recommendations by the server were right on) and the experience was more than special. Only drank water but they didn't seem to mind and kept bringing us bottles of the stuff without having to ask... The server was friendly but astute -- made sure we understood the menu and also smiled & laughed a great deal... All in all, a wonderful dining experience. tnx, g.w.

Nice small restaurant. We came early on a Fri night and it was not crowded yet which was perfect for us. Food was delicious. Noise from bussing dishes was pretty loud. Service was prompt and friendly. Pricy, but will return occasionally. We thoroughly enjoyed the duck and flat iron steak.

You don't go to Valentine's Day dinner just anywhere, you go somewhere special. Blue Cat is somewhere special, I've come here for year and not once had a bad experience.

The food was outstanding Had the best Maple Manhattan of my life The server/bartender (Julia)was knowledgable, personable, attentive and conscientious to bring courses exactly when needed Could not have had a better experience

Fantastic

We have been going to Blue Cat for over 8years. Every time we visit Burlington VT we go. Food and service has gone down. Took over 1 hr to get meals and meat was not cooked as asked. They were not busy at all. Overall - bad experience. Also Burlington VT is not the same. Wow I can't believe how much has changed in 1 year. Not safe anymore.

Comfortable and intimate setting in a quiet courtyard. For the prices, I would say I expected more effort with the food. There were five of us, well behaved with few special requests but our server seemed annoyed. The restaurant was empty, so I was surprised at our experience.

The food was good. My husband had the New York Strip and I had the Salmon. Both prepared well. The waiter was friendly but not attentive which was surprising since there were only two other couples there.

Better steaks at Applebees. Very disappointed. Ordered ribeye that was tough and WAY over cooked. Immediately told waiter. Said he would talk to chef. Only response was, when paying bill,” try us next time”. Sorry, too many good restaurants in Burlington for that. On plus side, good Blue Cheese salad. Nice, albeit small, atmosphere. Could use more wine by glass option, as well. Was simply hoping for better.

Came here to celebrate an anniversary. We had a caesar, hummus plate, duck breast and a filet. Everything was delicious, we will definitely be back.

Charming and welcoming place that even people in Burlington do not know about. We had a great experience. Our hostess was welcoming and very helpful. Our waiter was extremely serviceable and did a great job making suggestions. The menu is simple with nice choices. The food was really good. Our meats were cooked exactly how we asked for. We will definitely be back.

Delightful restaurant and bar located quirkily within a traditional Burlington office building. Quiet when we were there on a Monday evening, but the food and service were of a very high standard.

We told twice, “I will be right with you”. Waited 20 minutes with not so much as water. The place is small and 5 tables were seated we were the 6 th. We watched all tables around us getting service. We left and didn't even taste the water because it was never brought. Like other reviewers the service, at least for us, was non existent.
