I like this place for the cozy feel and good food. It is a little bit pricey but it's also on Church St. so maybe there is a bit of a premium there. Overall great service and atmosphere.

My wife and stopped in for a beer. We are from Oklahoma. They have locally made drafts. My wife had the Mexican Lager and I had the American. Both very good.We tried the chili and the clam chowder. Never thought to put sour cream on chili. It was surprisingly delicious. The clam chowder was tasty. For me, I would of cut the potatoes a little smaller. That goes back to my Momma saying, "You know if I love you or am mad at you by the size of your vegetables." The service was very good. We would definitely stop in again. Probably later today after the museum.

Until 2024, we had only dined at Halvorson’s once in the 5+ years we’ve been living in Burlington. Since January, we’ve dined in or had takeout a dozen times, and we ate glad to be regulars now! Among our favorites are the Bailey Melt burger, fried chicken salad, nachos, fish tacos and beef tacos on Taco Tuesday (when they are only $4 each), french fries (each order is enough for 2 people), halvy bowl (rice bowl with crispy pollock and veggies), bangers and mashed potatoes, and the fried chicken sandwich. Lawrence serves up an excellent margarita. Comfort food and drinks in an atmosphere that reminds us a lot of Cheers!Kid-friendliness: Our grandchildren enjoy eating at Halvorson’s

The space, the food, and the people at Halvorson's are wonderful! I had a welcome drink event for my wedding in the event space at the back of the restaurant in late September 2023, and it was perfect for our group. Jason was great to work with to plan the details leading up to the event. The food was all great, the space is very cool, and the staff was incredible. Would 100% recommend hosting an event at Halvorson's!!
