Hit or miss. Sometimes the food is fantastic other times not as much. I've gotten takeout many times from here and the Chana Saag is always my favorite. It's just not very consistent. One day it's great & the next time is completely different & blah. Overall, flavors are usually good, but the spice level is pretty lame. Also, prices have gone up and it seems a little insane to charge $5 for one piece of regular naan bread. Aromas of India in Williston charge $2, & it's high superior bread. Cheaper (& delicious) Chana Saag, too and spice level options.

This place is a delightful culinary adventure. It took me a very short time to realize that they have a dish for everyone in my party. Ishaque (Isac) the Chef is always present and willing to help and answers my questions when I want to try something new. The value is great too. When I come dor dinner it feels like going to a friend's house.I always leave Makalu with a great smile.
Great spot for Indian food! Especially in Vermont:) We ordered the garlic naan, chicken vindaloo (extra spicy), daal thadka (yellow lentils) and of course, mango lassi. Everything was delicious! We are excited to have leftovers.

The food is great, however the price increase is ridiculous... Ate here two weeks ago and now the prices have gone up 150%... And the portions are smaller... Compare the price difference with the menus online.. Either keep you Google page updated, or fix your main website.

Wow, I don't know when this place appeared but it's fantastic. A lot of Indian places have come and gone around Burlington, but I really hope this place sticks around. I feel comfortable saying it's the best Indian takeout I've had in VT.The saag paneer, chicken tikka, and cauliflower 65 are some of my favorites.
Isaac was awesome to talk with and the food was amazing! I’ve been here twice and both times were awesome. I got the coconut chicken curry and a mango lassi and they were both stellar. If you’re looking for good Himalayan food this is the spot! I will certainly be returning and will try something new! Thanks , Isaac!
