I ordered a pie, it was supposed to have happy birthday written on it, and when I got it home it had nothing done to it. Thanks for ruining my birthday surprise. I won't be ordering anything from them again.

I really want to like this place. What should be a good bakery in the heart of Essex? Sign me up! But almost every time we order from here, we are disappointed and have to throw away food (and thus our money). While the prices are very affordable, everything tastes quite old and dry. What prompted me to write today was the monkey bread- totally burned and rock hard, hubby bought it and you can’t even eat it! Check the pics, those aren’t black raisins on the top, I broke off a bit to check- it was charcoal and I had to spit it out. The monkey bread literally is inedible and leaves a bad taste. How a bakery stays in business with poor quality bakery items for 50+ years, I really don’t know, but obviously it has a devoted following. There are always old folks there hanging out, so clearly they love it. We try going a couple times each year hoping it will get better, but no luck so far. Also why do they only take cash? Are all purchases under the table? So inconvenient and really ostracizing in today’s world. Get a square reader at least! Will we be back? Maybe…maybe not. Sadly there aren’t a lot of other options

They don't take cards..I don't carry cash so unfortunately...they are losing a lot of business frankly..silly people

Christine Meunier

Horrible and rude customer service, I won’t be going back there again.

Food alone? 5 stars for sure. Their donuts are amazing and everything I’ve had is damn near. But the two gals that have been there both times I’ve gone in are so rude. What’s weird is they seem perfectly cheery before and after helping me. I’m sure you think I’m omitting the part where I’m a j**** but no… marginally indecisive at worst, but a couple seconds not a half hour.Anyway. Food is great. Would love to not wince when I see angry lady, but eh ?‍♂️

Thank you who ever baked and decorated my husband 80 th birthday cake. The cake was very moist and the maple frosting was out of this world. Everyone raved about it. Thanks again

These are the best donuts. I have tried many donuts and these are the best ones and are affordable. The cake donuts are super flavourful with the perfect crumb, and the yeasted donuts are all fluffy inside with a crispy outside. Dunkin, Tims, and Krispy Kreme have nothing on Quality Bake Shop. Go Early and bring Cash.

Excellent donuts! The honey pecan bread was delicious heated up the next morning too.And personally witnessed a waitress run out to help an elderly gentleman out of his car and into the bakery. We need more human beings like their staff!

Absolutely THE BEST bakery in Vermont! And an institution in Essex Junction. I would order by mail even to get stuff shipped overnight if I could.

Little mom and pop stop. Good food with a small town atmosphere. I visit it every Year when I'm in town.

Amazing little diner with counter style service. Once you walk in, you notice that there's definitely a local crowd and feel. I did not feel left out and was instantly welcomed. It vibed like you were eating with a dozen of your friends. Fantastic atmosphere, great company and even better food.
