Stopped by for phone ordered takeout tonight. Food was ready right on time, had the best ever Vegetable Lo Mein and Beef and scallops dinners with Wonton soup! Just fabulous. We’ve eaten there before, but tonight was by far the best. We highly recommend calling in an order. Then park nearby, walk in, and pay and pick up.Vegetarian options: You can choose either all vegetables or with meat. Many many choices for both.

If you want really bad Chinese food then come to (blinking neon lights) Kong Chow restaraunt in Rutland, VT. This epic tale starts with a Chinese woman with hair curlers, sticking her hand out the front door of the restaurant asking for "Credit CAR!" Several times before my boyfriend finally gave her the phone to speak to me. My boyfriend and I decided that after work, we would celebrate his birthday with some Chinese take out and evening of simple pleasures but this experience takes the cake! After the woman decided to hang up on me once she got my "Credit Car" , my boyfriend grabbed the phone as she shooed him out the door with two large stapled brown mystery bags, and slammed it behind him. "The audacity!" He states. We thought, well with this kind of customer service the food must be amazing... So one could only have dreamt. We go to unbox this unorthodox version of what they call "Chinese food", that smelled and looked as if the garbage disposal regurgitated the previous order. Sadly, the food was such a disappointment the homeless crack head behind the restaraunt would return this monstrosity and shake the dust off his feet. The rice was soggy and was the lowest grade, this is coming from an Asian person, myself. The hunan beef tasted bland, no flavor but oily and possibly an old rubber heel of a shoe. The General Tsao chicken tasted mildly like Palmolive with a touch of spice. The Szechuan dumplings, looked undercooked and smothered in the nearest mud puddle of the street and the sauce didn't taste too far from it. The appetizers were over cooked and the boneless spare ribs was such a disappointment. How can you mess that up, you ask? Easy, overcook it, throw some unknown brown sauce and smother it in aunt Jemima syrup and rub in some old grease. The wonton soup was salty, very salty. What flavor they were trying to cover, I do NOT want to know. If you want a night of diabetes, unknown flavors of possible mop water and pure regret, get your food from Kong Chow Restaurant, which I would said kong CIAO b/c they will never see this cute Asian face again! All brought to you worth $57.75! Food was inedible but worth the bad experience just to share with you!

Beware. My wife phoned in the order while I was at work, and when I got off I went to pick it up. Some woman with hair curlers in her hair met me at the front door since it was locked. (????) She reached her hand through the crack and demanded a credit card while I was still standing outside the restaurant, with no food. My girlfriend was going to pay over the phone, so the woman repeatedly shouted credit card while letting me inside to get my food. She grabbed my phone from my hand (?????) demanded the credit card number before I even saw the food and once she had it she literally reached over and attempted to click the red end call button SEVERAL times. On my phone. What the actual?? Then the woman handed me the food and actually physically pushed me out the door and relocked it. Hands down the worst service I have ever even heard of. 30 minute drive home and we sat down to try everything we ordered. I started with the boneless spare ribs. They tasted rotten, and attempted to cover the sour taste with excessive sauce. Next was the "egg roll". Filled with mystery substances, it was at least crunchy, but the flavor was again awful. The dumplings were Green? I have absolutely no idea why, and we're covered in some gross mystery sauce. Everything we tried even down to the rice was horrendous, which makes sense why she wouldn't allow me to check my food before being physically pushed out of the restaurant. This restaurant deserves zero stars, and would be far better off just being demolished for a generic Panda Express. So If you're looking for an extremely disappointing dining experience, physical assault, a waste of money, and potential food poisoning, head on down to New Kong Chow Fusion, today!

Why is it everytime I order Crab Rangoon, they turn out to be fried cream cheese pockets with nothing else? Everything has a cherry flavor to it. The fried rice was only thing that was good tasting.

Everything that was fried was in extra well done beef jerky form. The man was nice. Waited outside 5 to 10minues for him to come out front for card payment. He said after payment it will be about 30 minutes to prepare food and would call when ready. It took about 20 minutes which was nice. Apparently it's take out only. We are a family of 3 who love Chinese food. However not this place we didn't like it. Our dogs did like rice and jerky like meats.

I have not tried it yet. But the reviews have made my decision much easier and will probably leave it at "I have not tried it yet". I WAS a die hard fan of the KONG CHOW RESTAURANT! Nothing better than the Kong Chow, the awesome staff and chefs. FRIDAY NIGHTS WAITING IN LINE, WRAPPED AROUNG THE CORNER, FOR THEM TO OPEN!

This restaurant has been a Rutland staple. Good food, reasonable prices. Family oriented. Fusion food.

The food is as tasty and flavorful as some of my favorite spots in Chinatown (NYC). New Kong Chow is a treat to have in Rutland.

This is good Chinese which I find to be not all that common. It's easy to deal with these guys and they'll call you back and clarify stuff to make sure your order is right. The portions are pretty large. Whenever we're at Killington skiing we go to this place. Pretty much everything that I wanted in a restaurant. Good food good service good location.

Kong Chow has been a regular fixture of the downtown area and I have been a patron for at least 2 decades. The menu has enough to please most any pallette. The service staff are attentive and always pleasant. Oh, and I usually indulge myself with an alcoholic beverage with the obligatory umbrella ? and requisite garnishes just for fun ?. I'm sure you will have a good experience. Bring your whole family and start your own traditions.

Great food and fantastic flavor profiles. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Due to covid restrictions, at the time of writing July 2021, you could not eat in. Pick up only. You can order through phone or at the door. I ordered house special fried rice, pad Thai (new menu item), and mixed vegetables over rice. Because I was not able to eat inside, my review comes solely from the food, and it was great. Mixed vegetables was a good balance if you have been eating a lot of meat or something heavy. The flavor does not lack however, so don't be fooled just because it's all vegetables. It had snow peas, carrots, water chestnut, mushrooms and varied others. House special fried rice, I have a bias for that. I love fried rice, can't go wrong with that. This new pad Thai dish is something else. They have a new sheriff menu item in town. This was so flavorful, and unique to this style of pad Thai. It was sweet, savoury, a bit tangy, hitting all the notes of what I think makes Thai food, but it also doesn't taste Thai either. Fusion food done right tastes good and is a creation of something new. You have to try it out!
