First time here in a while was a huge disappointment. Ordered duck, pork lo mein, pu pu platter. The fried items were either borderline burned or tasted of old grease. The duck was so dry it was almost inedible. $70 of food ended up in the trash.

This was my first visit to this restaurant. I found that the online ordering menu was very easy to use and liked that we could pick the time to pick it up. It was ready when we got there - no wait. The girl who checked us out had a beautiful smile and was very friendly. The food was fantastic! It was still warm when we got home to eat. Everything we got was delicious. The portions were perfect for two meals. After trying several places in town, this one won us over. It will now be our go to for Chinese food.

Stopped in for a quick take-out lunch. The portions are larger than I expected, and the quality was outstanding. My wife and I will be returning, as good Chinese food is hard to find in this part of Vermont.

Delicious food!!! Only downside was parking and menu not totally clear that the sweet and sour sauce is served separate to the chicken - I would have ordered the chicken balls ?

I always order from Number 1 Chinese. The food is always great and prices are within reason.Parking: A bit difficult with parking if not so busy. Right on Main Street and easy to pull right out. I suggest always pulling out with traffic.

This is the 2nd time I’ve gone here in years and will never go back,we ordered sweet &sour Chicken and it had either been microwaved or recooked a few times, it was so tough that all 3 of us couldn’t even eat it. sesame beef was horrible, the rice was the only good thing on that meal. Shrimp lobster sauce was so so. We always go to chin a kitchen but they were closed tonight . I should take this chic back down to them tomorrow and ask them if they would eat it.

Overall, it will get the job done, but their food is not really anything to write home about. Some items are standard fare, but others are definitely below par. Their Egg-Foo-Yung didn't really sit well in the stomach, and the chicken was fairly questionable in the sense that it didn't have the texture of chicken that I have ever tasted. Their fried rice was flavorless. Their General Tso's chicken was fairly standard. I would reccomend another place over here at this time.Parking: It is next to the KFC, along the windowed side of the building. It is fairly easy to miss.

Pupu platter for two was hardly a serving for one doesn’t seem they have cleaned the place since it was built there ashes in the restroom where someone was smoking in the sink I don’t know how anyone could stomach eating there after seeing all of that but if they were still hungry they would be satisfied with the crumbs wedged in the dining tableParking: Have to park in the kfc lot and take a chance of being towed

I lived in Rutland for 3 years, during the pandemic, and had the opportunity to visit nearly every Chinese restaurant in town. No. 1 was my go to above all the rest. It helped that I was able to order online using the Beyond Menu app, but the quality of the food is exactly what you'd both want and expect for an American Chinese restaurant. I particularly like the beef lo mein and the general tso's chicken.
