Always creative & yummy! Today, we had an amazing crab cake to start. It was so good we couldn't wait so we failed to take a picture. My partner had a carne asada taco & a fish taco. The carne was his favorite! I had the Waldorf Salad - always excellent. We'll be back soon!

Food was great. Service was excellent. Tables a little close together. We were put in a dark corner next to another table separated by a floor plant. A bit awkward. No one was sat at the table next to us so it wasn't too bad.

Nicest crew, great vibe, excellent drinks. So fun to sit at the bar, great for a few people in a booth. Small, well curated menu, best poutine ever. Get the duck confit!

We made a reservation for 2.When we got there, we were told that a party called after us and they had requested to be at a table, rather than be sat at the bar.So, our reservation was moved from a table to the bar. They did ask when we saw the hostess, but it was 6:30 on a Saturday night, we drove half an hour to get there, and that was our plan for dinner… It did not feel like we had a real other option. And we were optimistic that it would be ok.When we were walked over to our new seats at the bar, we were told that they were going to comp a drink or appetizer or something. We got to our seats and there was a hand written sorry note and 2 stickers/patches. So again, felt like the decision had already been made for us that that was where we were going to sit.It took a little bit to get waters and to be asked what we wanted to drink. Shortly after, another server came over and asked if they could take our drink orders. The servers were nice, but we were falling through the cracks. It felt like we had to keep reporting where we were in our meal/service throughout our dinner. The check came - we did not get a complimentary appetizer/drinks as we were told we would initially. Our bill was easily over $100, not including the tip.Our take away:We followed the instructions on the website saying reservations were encouragedIf you make a reservation, it may not be honored (regardless of other factors/patrons). It would have been nice to be notified before standing in the door. The food itself was enjoyable and the cheese board was fun to start. The drinks we got were also good.We were disappointed to spend our saved dinner out the way that we did… walked out honestly feeling like a waste of time, money, and effort for a date night.

Food was okay, sort of hit or miss, overall not as good as the reviews looked.Staff were nice, but the strange insults posted from the owner below are off-putting and inappropriate.

Nice, quiet atmosphere with unobtrusive yet friendly service. A pleasure dining at a restaurant not afraid to season its food. Salt and pepper go a long way for enjoyable food. A perfect date night location that we will be adding to our date night list.

My friend and I made a 6 pm reservation for a long-awaited catch up and celebration of her new job. We had delicious tacos and nachos, excellent wine, and to-die-for chocolate mousse cake! We lingered over coffee and dessert, and folks were very accommodating of our need for time and connection this snowy evening. Love the Drake! A definite go-to in St. Albans! ❤️

Dining at The Drake is an experience orchestrated by Chef Eben. The Cheese Burger, a precisely cooked local beef on a devilishly delightful brioche bun, harmonized perfectly with the poutine fries--Don't miss the Margarita; it's kick-ass. On my second visit, the Waldorf Salad led with a few unexpected twists. Chef Eben's departure from the traditional Waldorf, while bold, left me pondering. The sugared walnuts, a departure from the expected raw, made me question the authenticity of this classic dish. The restaurant's bustling atmosphere, evident from the moment you step in, adds life to the experience. Being escorted to another seating area while awaiting our table was a delightful touch, enhancing the overall experience. While the decor may lack visual interest, the art for sale on the walls sparks intriguing conversations, contributing to the restaurant's unique charm. The ambient lighting sets the perfect mood for a wonderful dinner. The service at The Drake is a testament to the pride the staff takes in serving their community. With excellent service and a friendly staff, you'll feel right at home, making every visit a delightful experience orchestrated by Chef Eben's culinary artistry.

We were passing through and chose The Drake Bar and Kitchen for their reviews… and it definitely lived up to their ratings and exceeded our expectations! The staff were all incredible, especially Amanda. They even seated us near closing time with no hesitation. They never made us feel rushed and ensured we had the greatest experience. Their cocktails were perfect and beautifully crafted. We enjoyed the butternut squash soup special, the crispy fries, the pork schnitzel special, and the tacos… and it was all amazing! Their vegetarian options were great and their flexibility to make menu options vegan was also great. Above all, the people here deserve to be recognized for their genuineness, professionalism, hospitality, and just flat out kindness. The Drake Bar and Kitchen goes beyond great food and atmosphere. We highly recommend!Vegetarian options: There were so many vegetarian AND vegan options. This included fries, Elote, dirty rice, soups, salads, tacos, burgers, desserts, and more!
