Pretty good Japanese food for sure. Not quite at the level of your average izakaya in Japan but still good to fill that itch in Bellevue

Try the chicken fried rice! Its probably the best fried rice ive ever had! Has nice wok flavor to it!

Coco is my go-to spot when I'm too lazy to cook and I know I want something good. I almost always order the same thing: Pork Katsu Curry, 3 for spice level. The food is tasty and consistent, and the portions are always generous, especially considering the prices. I've dined in a couple times and the service is nice and generally pretty attentive. It doesn't take very long for the food to be prepared. They've got a good selection of drinks too.

I have been quite happy with this place- you will definitely get your money's worth as their portions are generous. That's rare to find these days! I enjoy their teriyaki sauce. My husband likes it better the second day vs fresh. He also thought the pork was a bit too sweet, but I liked it a lot.

I am a frequent visitor to coco because of its vast menu, which satisfies everyone's cravings. They also have ample seating, so I don't feel too close to other parties, which is especially important during the pandemic. Their portions are enormous! I will say that this restaurant is a "jack of all trades". Everything tastes very standard, but not outstanding, but if you're looking for options, this is the place to go! I typically get the karaage chicken with curry. You can't go wrong with this dish, and you can also adjust the spice level. I also got the creamy kimchee udon, which was very rich and contrasted the curry plate. I did think the creamy udon could use a little less of the "cream" part, as it got old pretty fast, but I took it home as a snack for later in the day.

We with my son were the only european people in restaurant. After main order second order was ignored and the waiter was ignoring us not even taking dirty dishes from the table for more then 25 minutes. I feel really bad and don't advice to support this place. Bad.

It's ok. First, as of this writing they don't serve sushi. Second, it's a restaurant that is trying to do too much, and doesn't have an identity. Izakaya or bibimbap or katsu or ramen. I don't mind the mixed Asian styles, but when the menu reads like the Asian version of Denny's that tries to serve everything, you know they're trying to hit the target with a shotgun because they have no aim. So that's the root problem, they end up doing everything just ok, but nothing extremely well. You don't come here saying the miso ramen is the best in the city, you come here because your dining party can't make up their mind and this has a little bit of something for everyone. Unfortunately that something is not culinary delight.

As someone who grew up in Japan, I can honestly say it is an awesome place to eat at. The music and advertising is more Korean, but they sell amazing Japanese and Korean food that closely resembles the quality you would see in these countries. Plus the portions are quite massive for being a reasonable price. With their dimly lit tone and a nice sized bar, it makes for an awesome experience for any accompany.I love introducing people to this place and would recommend anyone interested in good quality Japanese/Korean food to visit Coco Izakaya 2.0.

I wanted to try a different ramen spot and this showed up as a recommendation. I ordered the shoyu ramen to go and it was just okay. I had expected a clear broth, and was surprised to find it was creamier broth. The broth itself wasn't very hot, so after I poured it over the food, the spinach and bamboo shoots didn't really cook. I could have heated up the broth first but just wasn't expecting to get takeout AND have to "cook" before I could eat. The packaging for the takeout was good, but this seems like a dish that would be more enjoyable eaten in. It wasn't my favorite ramen that I've had though, so I don't know if I'll try this place again.

One of the effects of having not only COVID regulations but also construction near the BTC area is that many eateries that used to exist near the path from Bellevue Transit Center to Downtown Bellevue have moved or shut down (ex: Blank Space Cafe, Ooba Tooba) or closed at earlier hours. The situation gets worse when looking for food/items on the weekend since some places are only open from Monday to Friday. Coco Izakaya was one of the few places you can get a bite to eat at night on the weekend if you are not interested in going to Downtown Bellevue or you are near the Transit Center. One thing to call out is that the construction in the area has somewhat affected the restaurant's area. It has not shut down like the Homegrown kiosk but you will have to go out of your way more to get to Coco's entrance depending on how you get there as the plaza has been cut off with barriers. Because of this, I would advise that you try to preorder your food to get in and out but also give yourself just a few additional minutes to make sure you are using the right entrance if you have never been there before Speaking of ordering, there is one thing I NEED to call out. Years prior the place used to be called Coco Izakaya-Sushi Bar and I remember when it used to have a sushi chef. It had shifted it's name to the one you see now plus it doesn't offer sushi-related items as much. However, if you looking at the menu from their website or FB page, you wouldn't know of that shift as they still list things like nigiri or rolls. If you are not ordering in person like I did, a more up to date menu is available through delivery apps (ex: UberEats, Caviar) When I ordered in person, I waited in the lobby and I took 10-15 minutes which I was fine with. I ordered L.A Kalbi which came with sides like rice and onions. They provided me a menu to look at what they have. As mentioned before, other people picked up orders or used delivery but since this was a spontaneous outing for me, I did not. I waited in the lobby since it was spacious plus it was too cold outside. I can see how one could enjoy eating here in person. Overall I was satisfied with my choice (22.50) and could come back in the future.

Nice place for late night food in downtown Bellevue and for large group party, especially for students due to its variety of food, big portion, and the price. However, I wouldn't specially rate any of its dishes. Validated parking is available in the same garage as LA fitness.

I had the chicken katsu curry, it was tasty, but the rice was meh. The food felt like it had been left out for a little while. Otherwise the taste was good.
