Maybe my expectations were too high. But the variety is all weird IMO (and I get it's Bellingham so basically what Seattle used to be). The 2 quiche options both have black beans¿ The turkey on my club didn't taste very quality. My oldest got the big cheese, it came out as two slices of bread a slice of sweaty cheese and a wilty lettuce, they crisped it for her but it didn't melt the cheese. The specialty mimosa tasted like sunscreen. You have to order at the front fast casual style so it's basically a weird expensive version of Panera

I got the Italian egg sandwich, which was really delicious *****, so the issue is in the drink. I ordered a dark mocha with oat milk, and when it came out I had everything to go and walked back to my apartment. Ate the sandwich first when I got home, and then went to take the first sit of my drink, which was about 15-20 from pickup - SCALDED my tongue, it’s 25F outside and cold enough to zap some heat. So that sucked, but also, by making it too hot, which is incorrect, the milk base starts to separate from the chocolate.

Did not receive entire order. They refuse to refund and have offered to give me extra of the item the next time I dine with them. With how expensive this place is it’s a shame they can’t admit to their faults and refund customers for the portion of the food that is missing. I will not be visiting this establishment again.

We finally tried Avenue Bread and we weren't disappointed, it's a great place for breakfast or lunch. The menu is diverse and the food seems fresh. The bread is amazing and I loved the avocado toast! It was very crowded on a Sunday morning!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options on the menu.
Continuing my quest for the best sandwich, we move to Bellingham. If you know me you know that I love reuben sandwiches. So when looking into sandwich places in Bellingham this cafe cane up. The atmosphere was very nice. But tables with nice chairs and a good deli/cafe vibe (More on the coffee side). Getting the Ruben, I just say the presentation was great. Good meat spread, slightly low on the suave, good kraut levels though. The bread was phenomenal, but because of the sauce levels and the meat. I would have to give the reuben a strong 6.5. Avenue bread overall though was a great experience.

Walked in on Friday afternoon, ordered 2 basic sandwiches to go. Didn’t leave a tip since no service was provided for a take-out. 25 min later still no sandwiches were ready. The not-so-lovely girl who was helping me (dirty blond with the nose ring) said that’s how long it typically takes. Finally my sandwiches were ready & I could get on my 6h car journey, what a relief.Started to eat my sandwich in a car & realized that is missing components. Returned to the store, been helped by a young man who apologized & re-made my sandwich in less than 5 mins.

I'd definitely recommend Avenue Bread to anyone and everyone!Vegetarian options: I'm guessing you can substitute meat free protein on pretty much anything, I got a veggie patty on my egg sandwich and it was fantastic!Parking: Parking kinda stinks but that's not Avenue Bread's fault.
